10 Days of Homeschooling for First Year Families Day 10 Budget

Welcome back to Day 10 of the 10 Days of Homeschooling for First Year Families. This morning we are going to talk about setting a Budget! To my family me this is the most important aspect I had to deal with when we began to Homeschooling Charlie.  I wanted to purchase everything; I saw all at once.

10 Days of Homeschooling- Day 8

If I wasn’t careful I would have put us in debt. and  not cared as I thought I had to have everything at once to Homeschool Charlie. So Please Please Please set a Budget. And yes, there will be days you go over the budget but if you have one in place it is easier to follow. Also remember there are lots of free resources you can use if you take the time to look for them which will help you stretch your budget a little bit further. Just take the time to search.

This morning I wanted to share with you some of the items you may need to purchase when Homeschooling your children that you may not think of and  once again you do not have to purchase these items all at once. Nor, do they have to be new items when your homeschooling your children.

A lot of the items can find at Garage Sales, Swap Groups, Ebay, Craigs List, Children Resale Shops, and even friends or neighbors may have items you need. If not you may have to save up for the items and that is OK as well. Also, use  the Library as they have lots of free classes and printers and computers you can use.

With Back to School happening you can purchase a lot of these items on this list on sale. As your shopping  you might want to purchase extra items as you may run out of the basic items like pens, and pencils during the year. Also hop after the Holidays for Craft Items. and candy or stickers you can use in Arts and Crafts. As well as food items as you can have your children cook this could be a math or science class. Check with stores going out of business because they can be  a Homeschoolers paradise.

Also even if you do not subscribe to your Sunday paper find someone who does and ask them if they don’t use there coupons if you can have them. Because you can find coupons on items you will need like Shaving Cream and if you watch sales sometimes you can get these items for free or next to nothing.

Michael, Jo Ann Fabrics and also Hobby Lobby also have coupons. Check at stores like Barnes and Noble and Staples and ask if they have discounts for teachers or Homeschoolers as this will also allow you to save money on items your purchase for your classroom.
