10 WAYS TO INCREASE YOUR BLOG TRAFFIC

Every blogger has had to go through the frustration and challenges that come with trying to grow more followers and readers for their blog. It doesn’t just happen it takes a lot of work to make this happen, it’s easy to lose hope and give up on your blog but if you stay reliable, consistent and keep learning ways to grow traffic for your blog it will happen sooner than later.

A leap in traffic means more power for a blogger, and it says more people are reading your content, it could also mean more money if you are monetizing it right which is why I have decided to share with you seven proven strategies that have worked and will increase your blog traffic when applied correctly.

FIGURE OUT YOUR NICHE AND STICK TO IT: Don’t just be everywhere, narrow it down as much as you can and be excellent at it. While working on the increase of your blog traffic, it is critical that you figure out what exactly you are going to be sharing.

TARGET YOUR AUDIENCE:
After you have found what you are going to be writing about the next step is to see who it is going to be for and target them, your audience will spread the word of your content diligently, find groups that have a high number of the people you intend to reach and engage. If you are a health, wellness and weight loss blogger, you would want to participate in a group where people talk about weight loss and its challenges.

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
(SEO):  Search engines are highly crucial for traffic, a lot of bloggers ignore this usually because they do not understand (SEO) or how it works. (SEO) Is simple and pretty easy to set up SEO for your blog especially if you are using a platform that is already SEO friendly like WordPress or Drupal. SEO can make your blog traffic a success so don’t ever ignore it, and you could get as much as 70% of your blog traffic from Google referrals if your SEO is incredible.

WORK YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA: The power of social media is unlimited! Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ don’t leave any of it out, share your contents on social media regularly, Facebook has over 1 billion users, Twitter has over 271 million active users every month, Google+ has over 300 million users and these platforms attract a lot of interests from the internet, so it is imperative that your social media be on point. Create business and personal accounts on all platforms and fill them out to the fullest using great descriptions, professionally taken photos (If possible) and as much personal information as you can provide, it is also highly advisable to also connect with the people you know personally or professionally on these platforms.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS: Make Sure to install Google analytics on your blog because GOOGLE ANALYTICS is free. Google analytics will enable you to watch the numbers and the referrals, show you which sites/ platforms are bringing you the most traffic and which site it isn’t, what other bloggers are saying about you when they link back to you and what is working and what isn’t.

GUEST POSTS:
Guest posting still works, and for those that didn’t know it is Guest posting is being ignored recently but it still works aim to guest post on other blogs with similar or related niche, it not only links back to your blog which is very significant but it also brings your traffic that stays! Sharing audience has worked a lot on my blog because not only did these readers seek out my blog 60% of those who visit reach out which is fantastic if you ask me!

BLOG PARTYING:
Throwing a blog party takes a lot of work, but it pays off. Just in case you are wondering what a blog party is it is a party you host on your blog where you collaborate with different bloggers in your niche and do giveaways for a certain amount of time. Now the host organizes the whole thing and makes sure everyone’s article is linking back to their various sites while the collaborators are sharing the content. Now if you throw a blog party with 20 collaborators for 20 days you will have 20 different bloggers sharing content and freebies from your blog to theirs and all their social media platforms for 20 days now if this doesn’t boost your traffic crazily I don’t know what will!

Every step and strategy listed here must be applied correctly for best results, remember blogging is a great business but create a successful blog is a whole different ball game, Content is king, consistency is queen, motivation is fuel.

Let me know below if you have tried this or any ideas of what has worked for you in the past.

RESEARCH KEYWORDS: Researching and writing your content based on highly researched Keywords are one of the easiest ways to increase your traffic, concentrating on a keyword will help Google and other search engines understand what your post is about and this converts well.

INVITE GUEST BLOGGERS:
Having others write for your blog helps you add content more frequently. These guest bloggers will also share your posts on their social media platforms too which exposes your blog to new readers.

GIVEAWAYS: Everyone loves a freebie! Try to organize giveaways as often as you can, and it could be an eBook, a printable or cash prize, your readers will always be excited to be a part of your giveaways if you also give out valuable materials.

These strategies have helped me so much, and I hope it does the same for you, comment below and share with me how you are increasing your blog traffic.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
