Planning your next vacation is a good way to cure the winter blahs and cabin fever.  All this snow and ice sure does have me looking forward to my Disney cruise this Spring.

As a travel agent with Pixie and Pirate Destinations LLC-(an authorized Disney vacation planner) I do get asked all the time “Why should I use an agent?”  There are several reasons including costs, support, services and knowledge. Using a travel agent can help ease your planning stress and make your vacation as carefree as possible.

One of the best advantages to using my services is that they are FREE! Yes, free.  No additional cost to you.  Most vacation suppliers (like Disney) have agent fees built in to their prices.  If you do not use an agent that fee stays with the corporation.  However, use an agent and that fee gets paid out.  Most agents are home-based and by using an agent you are supporting a small business and a working mom.  I personally have one daughter who is 19 and three step-children who are 20, 14 and 13.

Using an agent could actually save you money. A good agent knows how to help you get the best bang for your buck.  One of my responsibilities is to continually check for new discounts and savings, even after you have booked.  If you have a booking with me and an offer comes out that will save you money I can get that applied to your reservation.  I will even compare other offers with you to see what will benefit your family.  Traveling with a family of 6 I have come to understand the importance of budgets.

Another statement I hear often is “We can get discount tickets or rooms so we won’t need a package.”  As your agent I can help you compare apples to apples and break down the cost of each part of your vacation including rooms, tickets, dining, transportation, etc.  We can compare staying on site vs. off site, using discount tickets v. Disney offers, flying v. driving.  Having those side by side comparisons can be helpful in determining which offers or deals are your best money savers.

Saving you money is not all I can do for you.  I am here to work with you to create a magical vacation.  We will work together to select the right resort, tickets and dining options for your family.  There are resorts for every budget from value to deluxe.  My free services include helping you decide when to go, where to stay, what to eat and what to do while you are there.  I am your support before, during and after your vacation.  Will you be celebrating a special occasion while you are there?  Do your children have any characters they would love to meet?  What events will be taking place while you are there?  I am always up to date on the latest happenings at Disney destinations and will gladly share my information with you.  Part of my concierge level services include creating a custom private webpage with all of your vacation details including your resort information, tickets, dining reservations, park hours, daily park recommendations, itineraries, and touring plans.  All of your important information will be in one spot for your easy reference.

Some people think if they use an agent they lose all control of their own planning.  Not true! Most travel agents, myself included, acknowledge that each family has different wants and needs.  Simply put we work with you as much or as little as you like.  I actually encourage my clients to be as hands on as possible.  Disney is making this hands-on approach prominent in the new My Magic + system.  Guests are encouraged to interact in their planning via the My Disney Experience website and mobile apps.  You are able to customize magic bands, select fastpasses and even make dining reservations.  For those of you who are not into the planning, you are in good hands and I am very detail oriented and will take care of everything for you. Either way you will have someone on your side watching out for you.  I am here to guide you and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Use my knowledge to your advantage to make the best vacation possible. As part of my agency’s policies I am required to stay up to date on all online training provided.  Not only am I up to date on all of the required training but I have also attended an onsite agent education program at Walt Disney World.  Add to that multiple personal trips and experiences and you will find I know the ins and outs of Disney and am glad to share my knowledge with you.

No obligation quotes are always available just visit our website www.pixieandpiratedestinations.com and request Mary K as your DVP or you can contact me directly at (502) 727-9443 or Mary.k@pixieandpiratedestinations.com.   Do you have another destination in mind?
