A-to-Z Challenge (April 2016)

I found a challenge that I’ve decided to join in A-to-Z Challenge April 2016. I will be participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge again.

I’ve participated in the Ultimate Blog Challenge before, but I can’t say I finished the challenge, but I did try. Trying is what counts.  I would like to invite you to join us in this event.

A2Z-BADGE_[2016]

Blogging From A to Z (April 2016) Challenge is the brainchild of Arlee Bird, at Tossing it Out, in the challenge were to post every day in April except Sundays (we get those off for good behavior.)

Since there are 26 days, that matches the 26 letters of the alphabet. On April 1, blog about something that begins with the letter “A.” April 2 is “B,” April 4 is “C,” and so on. You can use a theme for the month or go random – just as long as it matches the letter of the alphabet for the day.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Blogging from A to Z (April 2016) Challenge here is click on the link to get information. You will be able to learn more about the Blogging from A to Z (April 2016) Challenge and how the challenge began and when.

Blogging From A to Z (April 2016) Challenge recommend short posts, and for us to turn off Word Verification which I don’t use on my website. Then they ask us to visit five blogs (or more) a day beginning with the one after yours on the list.

Visiting 5 blogs doesn’t sound like a lot but for me there just seem to be enough hours in the day to get all I need done. I’m going to do my best try and visit the blogs each day. as I love checking out new blogs which has helped me make new friends in the past.

One of my favorite parts of Blogging From A to Z (April 2016) Challenge is the categories for those looking for like-minded blogs. We can select ONE category code and enter the code after our blog’s title/name.

The code applies to your blog, not your theme for the Challenge and is purely optional. See the first few blogs on the list for examples. However, if your blog has adult content, you MUST mark it (AC) or it will be removed from the list. Codes are as follows:

ANIMALS: (AN)
BOOKS/REVIEWS: (BO)
CRAFTS/ART: (CT)
CULINARY: (CU)
EDUCATION/SCIENCE: (ES)
ENTERTAINMENT: (ET)
GAMING: (GA)
HISTORY/MYTHOLOGY: (HM)
HUMOR: (HU)
LIFESTYLE/SOCIAL: (LS )
PERSONAL: (PR)
PHOTOGRAPHY: (PH)
POETRY: (PO)
TRAVEL: (TR)
WRITING/STORYTELLING/MEMOIR: (WR)
ADULT CONTENT: (AC)

I wasn’t sure what category I should chose because I dub myself a General Lifestyle or Home school Blogger, but I also conduct Reviews and Giveaways.

Finally, I chose the Lifestyle/ Social (LS) category but tomorrow I will be asking Elle Emme from LM Solutions if that was the right category. Or if I should have picked something totally different.

I enjoy meeting new bloggers I thought you might as well I wanted to share the host of A-to-Z Challenge with you. I would like to know if you have followed any of these bloggers. If so, what did you like about their website and why?

Arlee Bird @ Tossing it Out
Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh
Heather M. Gardner
Jeremy @ Hollywood Nuts
AJ Lauer
Zalka Csenge Virág @ The Multicolored Diary
Joy Campbell @ The Character Depot
John Holton @The Sound of One Hand Typing

I would like to tell you let visiting just 5 blogs a day will not make a dent in Blogging from A to Z (April 2016) Challenge. I just went and looked, and they have over 2000 blogs signed up.

For me to visit all the participants I would need to spend hours on here just blog hopping which can be fun but wouldn’t let me get much done. So, I printed out the list of blogs so even when Blogging from A to Z (April 2016) Challenge is finished I can go and visit the blogs I didn’t have time to visit.

If you join leave me a comment, I will check out your post as I look forward to seeing what everyone else chose to write about. For me I’m going to go with a theme.

The theme will either be things kids can do that start with that letter for the day.  Which I can share with the Homeschooling Crowd. Or desserts which I love. Being on a diet sharing Desserts might not be the best thing for me to share. Let me know which you would prefer to see and that is what I will share with everyone.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates

  1. Either of your theme choices will be lovely to explore. I didn’t finish last year but I decide early this morning that I want to have another go. I also want to make sure I do all the blog visits this year, so here I am. 🙂 #AtoZChallenge
