Chicken Soup for the Soul Country Music

When Suzzane was still here, we would visit our local Library and check out all the Chicken Soup for the Soul books we could find. Then Suzzane and I would come home. We would spend hours reading the stories to each other. I miss those days more than you can imagine.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music: The Inspirational Stories behind 101 of Your Favorite Country Songs by [Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Randy Rudder]

Before you ask even though there is Chicken Soul Books about Pets Charlie and David will not read the books with me. Which is what surprised me when I opened my Christmas Gift from my best friend Debbie. Inside was Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music.

Just from looking at the cover of the book I knew my mom and dad would have enjoyed the stories inside reminding me how much I miss them. Then as I thumbed through the book and came across stories from Ray Stevens and James Monroe, I knew my mother-in-law would enjoy this book as well. I also plan on seeing if it’s on Audio for my father n law and David’s Uncle LC who can listen to the stories when driving the Big Rigs, they drive for work.

I was so excited to find out the first story came from Bobby Bare who sings Please Don’t Tell Me How the Story Ends. Have you heard of Bobby Bare and if so which song of his do you prefer and why? In the book he shared his son All American Boy about a boy in the Army which I don’t think I had ever heard. Had you?

Readers will get an inside look at the personal stories behind their favorite Country songs as songwriters get up close and personal with exclusive stories about how and why they wrote them.

Songs tell a story, and now many of Country Music’s most famous singers and songwriters are sharing more of the story! These artists reveal the inspiration, influence, and background, and when and why they wrote their most famous songs, in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music. Book includes great photos of the songwriters and lyrics of many of the songs. A great gift for anyone who loves country music!

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
