Communication Is Key To Me

Communication has always been key to me in Charlies education. Which means either David or I make it a point to check in with Charlies teachers each week. So yesterday when I received Charlies progress report and he is failing it makes me furious. Especially  when we are told Charlie is doing fine and that there is nothing we need to work on.

So I always make sure all of his work is turned in. Then I check with them at least once a week to make sure they have everything they need. Then they send the progress note home.

Which makes me furious as Charlie is flunking reading and if this is the case why didn’t they tell me this? Why do I not know until the progress is sent home? How can I help Charlie is no, one talks to me?

To me this is unacceptable so again today even though I work from home I have to take off and go back up to the school to find out what is going on. So now my question to you is would you punish your child or like me do you think it is the teachers fault so you do not get on your children? As they might not have been aware of there grades?

As you look at the progress report also take a look at the comment under Charlies math grade why didn’t his teacher bring this to my attention as well? Because once again I can not help Charlie if I do not know these things are happening?

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
