Dallas Fort Worth Ice-Skating

There’s nothing like Ice Skating during the holidays to get you into a festive mood this morning I would like to share with you mine and Charlie’s Bucket List because I wanted to share places we can take our families to Ice Skate. Once you check out this list, I have put together let me know if you know of other places, allowing Ice Skating and I can add them to the list as this one is for Dallas Fort Worth Ice-Skating.

During the holidays it makes me wish Suzzane were still here as she could have taken Charlie Ice Skating because I am not sure my ankles will hold me up while skating because I have broken one of my ankles a couple of different times. I guess it’s time to call Leslie but she has moved out of town so I can’t ask her to take Charlie either. Now the only person I have left to take Charlie Ice Skating is either David or my niece Alex, and I am not sure either of them will take Charlie.

Dallas may not have a Rockefeller Center, but it does have an indoor ice rink at the Galleria that’s a festive place to skate during the holidays. The arena gets decked out for the season with a 95-foot-tall Christmas tree complete with ornaments and 250,000 lights twinkling to the sounds of the season. There’s also a full schedule of ice-themed entertainment, including performances by a back-flipping Santa and other skating champions.
The center offers year-round skating and classes for all levels. If you can’t skate but want to try, then take the introductory 15-minute lesson to help you get your glide. When hunger pains strike, grab a bite or a stiff drink at the restaurants located around the rink. Holiday festivities at the Galleria start after Thanksgiving and continue until first of the year.
Allen Community Ice Rink is a full-size ice surface, measuring 85 feet by 200 feet with a general seating capacity for over 300 spectators. Amenities include locker rooms, skate sharpening, Pro Shop, meeting rooms, off-ice training areas and skate rental. An on-ice harness is available as well.

The center may be the home of the Texas Brahmas hockey team and known for having the best hockey facilities in the State, but it also offers excellent ice for those who want to have fun and skate. Housing two NHL-regulation-sized rinks and an Olympic-sized one, there’s plenty of space to enjoy all of the activities offered, including skating classes, hockey classes, clinics, birthday parties and events. If you’re feeling hungry, slide over to the Italian restaurant inside, where you may find the large pizza to give you energy for your next glide.

Conveniently located in the middle of Stonebriar Mall, this NHL-sized rink provides kids and adults a perfect escape from a day of shopping. They offer skating and hockey lessons, family skate specials, plus special extended hours for both public skating and freestyle sessions. During the holidays, it also provides a Santa’s Little Elves Camp which you may leave the kids for a skating lesson while you shop.

If you’re looking for a great place to skate without the crowds, then take a spin at this regulation-sized rink. Since opening in 2009, the arena has continuously offered a variety of specialized programs, camps, ice hockey tournaments, and clinics, many of which are free during extraordinary times. The rink also organizes special events throughout the year centered around themes, including a Thanksgiving turkey open skate with on-ice turkey bowling and turkey tag. During the Christmas holidays, there is a holiday skate party with Santa photo-ops, music, on-ice games and plenty of other holiday activities.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
