Denton Water Works in Denton, Texas

Yesterday David took the day off so we could take the boys to Denton Water Works which is in Denton, Texas. David, Charlie and I headed out about 9:30 as it can take an hour or longer to get there. We are in Haltom City a suburb of Haltom City, Texas. I wanted to be there when Denton Water Works opened although that wasn’t Gods plans for us.

We arrived at Denton Water Works around  11:15  I figured we would be in a mile long line and although that wasn’t the case. We were able to get up to the ticket booth in just a couple minutes and let the cashier know who we were. They gave us our tickets and let us know we were welcome to walk inside and someone would meet us to escort us to our Cabina.

I was happy we received a Cabana to use. Because I liked being able to pick the one out a closet to the Lazy River. This allowed me to watch Charlie while he played. It turned out we were the only one using the Cabana. I was so excited knowing we would be under the shade as it can get so hot sitting on the grass.

We walked into Denton Water Parks, and we walked over to the tables and chairs occupied. We weren’t there early enough to get in line to get a table or chairs. So if your planning on visiting and would like a chair or table you will want to make sure you arrive early. So you can get into line and get inside to get a table or chairs before they are all taken.

David brought the cooler in, and we got everything situated inside the Cabana. Then Charlie asked if we could go inside the building to look around as he wanted to play in that pool and try out the slides. We walked over to the building and went inside and walked around so we could see what all there was.

We walked to the door to go into Nat had signs that said Private Swimming Lessons were going on so the inside swimming area was closed and wouldn’t be opening up until noon and would remain open until 2. Charlie was a little disappointed, but once we assured him we could come back in when it opened up, he was fine.

We walked up to the Lazy River I noticed they were building a wave pool which I was excited. If you would like to come try it out it will be opening in July when David is on Vacation. I let David know I would want to go back out and try the wave pool as I knew Charlie would enjoy it as much as I would. Charlie, David and I  went on into the Lazy River which was one of my favorite attractions. I wish I knew how far it was around it so I could track how far I walked

Once we finished in the Lazy River, Nat was open. Charlie and I went inside and got into the pool and played Basketball. Charlie was also able to make a couple of friends inside the Swiming pool which he was was able to play with, and it allowed me to rest. I liked knowing there were two slides for Charlie to check out. As well as a pool for me to walk in or swim while Charlie went down the slides.

Charlie saw the Diving Boards which he had forgotten was inside, so he went and dove off them for a while. I didn’t think we would ever get Charlie away from the diving boards. Although once the slide inside opened up, he left the diving boards to try it out. I went back outside to the Lazy River while Charlie played on the slides and David watched him.

We thought Charlie’s friend Aiden was going to join us that afternoon so I let the cashier know, and she was kind enough to keep his ticket for us. I asked if I would be able to go outside and meet him and get back inside and she assured me it wouldn’t be a problem. I waited for his mom to call and let me know they arrived. I walked out to meet him as I figured it would be easier than him coming inside to look for us.

Once everyone arrived, we went back to the Cabana David went back out to the car to get our lunch. We didn’t want to leave it in the Cabina while we were playing. David was able to bring the cooler in and not be charged as other water parks do. They did check the more relaxed to make sure we didn’t have any glass inside the cooler.

After we finished our snacks, Aiden decided to jump off the Diving Board inside the Nat who was Aiden’s first time to dive off a diving board as he can’t swim. To our family and Aiden’s mother Tammy this was a huge success. Both boys decided to try out all the slide. Aiden was afraid they might be too broad that he went ahead and tried them and didn’t have any problems at all.

To be sure Aiden would be okay David went down one time on the slides with them, and I sat out and watched. AI don’t do heights very well especially when it is hot, and my Blood Pressure is bothering me. I was perfectly happy sitting on the side of the pool soaking my feet in the water.

David and I ended up getting tired before the boys did as we had been there from 11:15 till 2:45 so we went back to the Cabana, and I sat down on the recliner and cat napped while David sat and waited for the boys. We let them wander around on there own and play on the slides and also in the lazy river. I felt entirely comfortable allowing them to walk around by themselves as Denton Water Works Parks is perfectly safe for children to be dropped off by themselves and picked up later. Unlike some other water parks, we have been to in the past.

Denton Water Works Parks isn’t too big that I couldn’t find the boys anytime I wanted to check on them. All the water wasn’t so thick that I would need to worry about either of them. I just told them both they had to stay outside and play. They had to remain together at all times and not split up.

Charlie and Aiden became tired around 4 when we packed up to head home although we had wanted to we could have left and eaten and come back for them to play till close. Although David had to get up early for work, so we came back home. Though you wouldn’t have to leave to eat as Denton Water Works Parks does have concessions inside the park but the boys wouldn’t have eaten and been more worried about playing. We went ahead and headed home.

Although I looked at the menu so the next time we come out, I would know if they had foods Charlie would eat. Which I found lots of things all of us would eat. So as a special treat I will let them order lunch and see how well they do the next time we come out.I did tell David the next time we go I will get us some Ice Cream from Dippin Dots.

We headed back to Haltom City to take Aiden home I asked the boys what they thought of Denton Water Works Parks, and they both said they loved it and hadn’t stopped talking about everything they were able to do at the park.

Once we got home and time passed both Charlie and David are asking when they can go back to Denton Water Works Park as both of them have repeated time and time that this is there very favorite water park ever. I have to agree with them as it is mine as well.

I was looking around the website the other day I was looked at the prices to get into the park, and they are reasonable that if it were a tad bit closer, it would be the only water park I would take Charlie to. I would have purchased Season Park Passes for Aiden and us and a couple of Charlie’s friends.

I wish Charlies Birthday was in a different month besides December as I would host Charlies Birthday Party here and because I know Charlie and all of his friends would love it. I think I will check with the Nat and see if they host parties as they would still be able to swim. Although I would have to have a van to take the children to Denton as their parents might think it would be a little bit far for them to come.

I also like knowing they offer a payment plan for there Season Passe. If they offer this service next year, I think I will purchase a Season Pass for all 4 of us. We can always stop by on the way to visit my dad or on our way back home because we pass Denton Water Works Parks.

Renting a Hotel and doing a Staycation is the perfect way to get away for the day. In fact, I might even look for a Hotel one time, and we spend the weekend in Denton so that we can wander around the town as it would be a brand new town for us to check out. Staycations can be a lot of fun and something we don’t do enough.

I was excited to find out Denton Water Works offers monthly passes if we didn’t think we would be able to visit Denton Water Works all Summer we could purchase a monthly pass. Then if Aiden or one of Charlie’s other friends wanted to go with us and we were going very much that month we could get them a monthly pass that way if the children weren’t around all Summer we wouldn’t waste money on the water park passes we purchased.

I was given four passes to Denton Water Works Parks in exchange for this review and the thoughts in the report are all mine and my families.
