Diary of A Wimpy Kid Double Down

Charlies’ grandmother Sherry has always been a key player in helping me get Charlie to read. Sherry finds books for Charlie and lets me know what she sees and where she finds the books. Or just purchases books for Charlie then drop the books off at my house or I go down to hers to pick up the books. Which I appreciate as there are times, I can’t afford to purchase books for Charlie.

Double Down (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #11) by [Jeff Kinney]

Yesterday as I was working with Charlie in the 4th-grade workbooks Sherry had picked up for Charlie at Sam’s at the beginning of Summer my phone rang, and Sherry had a question for me. Sherry and Alex, my niece had gone to Toys R Us to put items in Lay A Way for Payton’s birthday. While inside they walked around and found books for Charlie on sale.

Once Granny Sherry was back home, she called to let me know which books they had and that they were on sale. After discussing which books, they were I let Sherry know which ones I thought Charlie would like. Sherry let me know she would go back the next day to get those books for Charlie.

This week thanks to Sherry I don’t have to go to the library as Charlie has three new books to read. Which we will be starting today, and they are Diary of a Wimpy Kid Double Down.  Charlie is excited and can’t wait to get started reading his new book also I can’t wait to sit down and read this new book as I want to see what it means when they say Double Down because for me Double Down reminds me of a race track where horses are raced, How about you?

I have a question for you have your children have read Diary of a Wimpy Kid Double Down if so, what did they like or dislike about the book and why?  Would they recommend Diary of a Wimpy Kid Double Down to their friends? If not why not?

The pressure’s piling up on Greg Heffley. His mom thinks video games are turning his brain to mush, so she wants her son to put down the controller and explore his “creative side.”

As if that’s not scary enough, Halloween’s just around the corner and the frights are coming at Greg from every angle.

When Greg discovers a bag of gummy worms, it sparks an idea. Can he get his mom off his back by making a movie and will he become rich and famous in the process? Or will doubling down on this plan just double Greg’s troubles?
