I wish I could say David is off on Saturdays and Sunday’s although that isn’t the case. So Charlie and I are home alone and with no, car we spend most of our day on Saturday in the house. Unless Charlie wants to go over to his friend Damien’s and I walk with him. Or we take our Bikes out or just decide to go for a walk.
Because David’s dad is off we don’t see his parents unless we need to go down to there home to pick something up. So going somewhere with Granny Sherry is out and my sister is working so many house she doesn’t cover over like she used to. In fact we hardly ever hear from her.
So Charlie and I spend our Saturdays camped out on the couch watching TV or we end up in his room where he play on his Game System and I watch him or I read a book. Although sometimes he will come and play a board game with me or work in his workbooks. It just depends on what Charlie feels like doing as I let him chose how we will spend the day.
If he does get on his game or goes over to a friends and doesn’t need me then you will find me on the computer working on things I didn’t finish during the week. Or you might find me out walking or exercising in the house trying to lose this weight that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Once David is home we make dinner and clean the house or work in the yard so it is clean for the following week. If David gets home early enough we might head out to the pool or movie. Unless the guys just want to veg at home and if they do they watch tv together and I end up turning on the Hallmark channel and watching movies all night.
As for Sundays it is the very same thing as David works although in the past when he was off we would go out to breakfast very early and head to the grocery store before it would end up full of shoppers. Then we would pick Charlie up from Church and head out to the park to spend time together.
So the sad part with David’s job is he is only off on one day and that is Thursdays. So when Charlie is in school they don’t get as lot of time together. But it gives David and I time alone which we need so we have lunch or breakfast and run errands until time for Charlies lunch then we bring him lunch. Then we come home and David rest and I work until Charlie gets out of school. Then we head to the park or swimming. Because the main thing for me is making memories with Charlie so no, matter what day David ends up off on we make the time to spend time together as a family.
I thank God each and every day for David and his job because after spending a year with David being unemployed I am just grateful for the job and wouldn’t even care if he didn’t have any days off at all. Because not being able to pay rent or know if we would have food for Charlie caused quite a tool on our family and I never want to go through that again ever.
