CHARACTER EDUCATION
Believing that happiness can be learned, feelings can be understood, and that building a character based on a positive attitude leads to a happy, content, successful and confident human being. I have written a series of educational children’s books to help educate children about their feelings, their attitudes, their choices, and the consequences that follow.
CHARACTERS
HUGO was born when I was on a vacation and a little, red starfish floated by my boat. I had never seen a floating starfish before and was fascinated! I named him Hugo, after my favorite plush toy from childhood, a little green Hippo.
The fairy-tale of Princess Sophia came to my mind the day my beloved niece, Sophia, was born. I wanted to give her a gift, the gift of happiness and help her understand from early on that she is in charge of her happiness.
CAREER
I have not always been a children’s book author! I discovered my love for creating children’s books at the “old age” of 37, while I was working with children from mostly distressed backgrounds. They inspired me with their attitude towards life despite their somewhat tricky living situations.
After studying design and graduating from university I lived, studied and taught in several different countries and cultures. Previously a teacher for Language and Cultural Art, I happily traded in my 9-to-5 gig for a rewarding career as a children’s author.
I have always had a love for teaching and helping children. Being able to share the wisdom of the right attitude through my stories gives me a new goal to make a difference in the world.
DREAM
Today I have found my dream career: creating cheerful children’s books with meaning and teaching children with a right attitude.
I have learned from “my students” that we might not be able to control life’s circumstances or other people’s actions. However, we can control our attitude towards them.
With the right attitude life indeed gets so much more comfortable!
