Back to School Staycation

As it gets closer for Charlie to return to school, I have been trying to decide what to do to make the last week of Summer very special for our family. I had thought of us going somewhere to camp out or to stay in a hotel for at least one day. Although Charlie wants to do that over Spring Break. I would like to let you know I have finally come up with a Staycation for David, Charlie and I to do before Charlie goes back to school. David will be coming and going during the Staycation as he has to work.

I plan on starting our Staycation on Wednesday and having it go through Friday this way David is able to participate in at least one full day of the Staycation with us as he is off on Friday. To prepare for our Back-to-School Staycation Charlie and I have started saving all of our change so we can purchase items for our Staycation. We plan on asking friends and family for items we need so we can have the most fun ever because I want this to be an event Charlie doesn’t ever forget.

One thing I plan on having done before we do our Staycation is having Charlie’s clubhouse finished so we can stay inside as it is a covered area under the porch and would be the perfect place for us to have dinner and watch movies if we decide to do that during our Staycation.  If we use doors, or sheetrock then Charlie and I can even take the                 art supplies out and decorate his clubhouse during our staycation. I also found a Do Not Disturb sign and one that says Welcome we can hang out on the Clubhouse.

To make the Staycation more memorable I plan on purchasing items for the garden so we can work on the garden during our Staycation. Along with Fairies and Gnomes so Charlie can decorate the Garden and each year right before school begins, we can add to the Garden which is a good way to show how Charlie’s taste changes from year to year. Working in the Garden will allow David to help us out and the garden will be something we can always add to turning our home into our own home instead of a place we rent,

During the Staycation, I will not be working and will not allow Electronics outside with us unless we watch a family movie, and I will only check emails once a day. If you’re looking for Charlie, David or I you will need to join us on our Staycation as we will be camping outside in Charlie’s tents which we have 2 of and I want to put both tents up so we have plenty of room for us and the dogs because I am sure they will come camping with us. Because it isn’t right leaving any of the family out and we all know they are part of our family.

I am sure the kids in the neighborhood will want to stay with Charlie and I and at this time although I am not going to let them stay with us because this is a special time for my family. If they want to camp out with Charlie, it will have to be at another time, and they will have to bring their own tents and flashlights and leave all their electronics at home and their families will have to help us get them food and things to do. I am not doing this for everyone as I don’t have the money or time to do for them.

During our Staycation, I will be finding new things for our family to visit including the Dallas Zoo or NRH20. The sky is the limit so be watching to see what we decide to do because we might just visit parks and go walking and on           Nature Hikes. The main reason for the Staycation is spending time together and creating new memories and this is the whole goal of the Staycation.

During our Staycation, I plan on getting both Charlie and David more involved in my blog as well as Charlies because they can take pictures and we can cook new foods and they can write out what we do and through the pictures, we take you can come along with us on our Staycation. I am sure there will be water gun fights and even sleeping in a Hammock if I can find one and we will be throwing Horseshoes as this is what David likes to do.

A Staycation wouldn’t be fun without Dessert so Charlie and I will be making Smores and would like to invite you to join us when we make them.
