Last Year We Joined Hurst Public Library Reading Program

Last Year We Joined Hurst Public Library Summer Reading Program and we both won prizes. So I had Charlie sign up again this year. As I had plans for Charlie to read every day or work in his workbooks. Which I haven’t made him do so he hasn’t been able to turn in any minutes which isn’t good. As this means Charlie hasn’t been reading. So this week I plan on changing that and each morning when Charlie gets up the first hour will be spent reading and working in his workbooks. As I picked up another new one the other day while we was in the store.

Then Charlie can record his minutes not only for Hurst Public Library but also Haltom City’s and any other sites we can find. Because for me I have read more than enough hours to win prizes at both libraries as I sit down and read each night for at least 30 minutes if possible. Although like yesterday I read a book for a couple hours. Plus, I went and read through emails and I had been told that counts as well.

The nice thing about the Summer Library Reading Programs are David can sign up as well. Because he has been reading recipe boxes when he cooks. As well as his paperwork at work. Along with things on the games Charlie and David have been playing. Which used to not happen as David wouldn’t read anything and he wouldn’t even try. But since learning Charlie has Dyslexia David has has been reading more to show Charlie can overcome there problems if they work at it.

So this morning while it is quite I am going to grab my blanket and pillow and curl up on the couch with my book for a bit. As I feel like shutting the world out for a little while longer. Would you like to come with me on my adventure?

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
