Light Spectrums: A Collection of Poetry 1st Edition

Disclosure: I received a copy of  Light Spectrums: A Collection of Poetry 1st Edition in exchange for this review.

Charlie isn’t to familiar with Poetry because I don’t normally read Poetry books to Charlie or even to myself. With Charlie in 4th Grande I knew Charlie would be learning Poetry.

For those of us who don’t know Charlie will be entering 4th grade this year and I asked Charlie if he would read Light Spectrums with me and Charlie said he would. We sat down together and read the novel one poem at a time.

Inside Light Spectrum  are 28 poems  poems which gave us time to read one poem a day and to go over  each poem. When we finished reading the poems we took turns discussing what we  Charlie poem.

Charlie would draw pictures to go with the Poems we read. Charlie, David and I would color the pictures together which gave us a chance to go over the poems with David. Once we finished coloring the art work Charlie made we hung them on my office wall.

I like how inside the novel they used all kinds of poems which allowed me to get out Charlies dictionary and explain each type of poem with Charlie.

Light Spectrums  is a novel my family would read again and again. We would share the novel with our family and friends. Along with Charlie’s teachers.

I knew Charlie would enjoy the Poems inside Light Spectrums because the poems are about Nature which Charlie loves. We even took                              Light Spectrums outside to the park and read the poems there so we could be close to Nature.

We discussed how we thought the Author felt when writing                              Light Spectrums and discuss how we thought the Author was feeling and we discussed how Authors find there inspiration.

I would use Light Spectrum’s in homeschooling  if we were still Homeschooling Charlie, but he has returned to school. Which is something you might find hard to believe.

I was able to get David to sit down and read Light Spectrums. David enjoyed the novel as much as Charlie and I did. In fact David even tried to read parts of Light Spectrums on his own. This doesn’t usually happen because we know David has trouble reading.
