Haltom City Library Premiers Night of Romance With Host Kym Roberts

Haltom City Library Premiers Night of Romance With Host Kym Roberts. Before you ask me if Haltom City Nights of Romance has passed and yes, it has.  I would like to let you know I wasn’t able to go this year as it was the night my father was visiting. Even though I wasn’t able to meet the Authors I wanted to make sure I shared their story with you. As you can take the time to check out their books anytime.

I was looking through the Authors and the books they published I found a lot of there books I can’t wait to read. Next year you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be attending Haltom City’s Night of Romance, where I will have the chance to meet the host Kym Roberts and the other Authors who sign up to showcase there work. as I know there will be Authors  I can’t wait to meet.

This is my 3rd year Haltom City Library’s Valentine’s celebration and I have to say, it’s by far the best library event I’ve attended.

There are several things that make Haltom City stand out

1. The people–the staff are awesome. They have a great outreach program for the community and the readers have always been so sweet!

2. The theme–readers know what to expect–it’s all about romance it’s not a mix-mash of different genres that can be a hit or miss for readers and writers.

3. It’s local. This makes it easy for writers, traveling with all your paraphernalia can be a real chore.

4. It’s free for the readers and writers. Conferences can be a drain on everyone’s wallet. It’s just a win/win for readers and writers.

I visited the Senior Circle in Grandbury in January. It’s a great bunch of people who made me feel like I was a part of their community.

In June I’ll be at the McKinney Square Book Festival for the first time.
So far that’s all I have scheduled this year, but I will be watching for more local events.

Bio

Three career paths resonated for Kym during her early childhood: a detective, an investigative reporter, and…a nun. Being a nun, however, dropped by the wayside when she became aware of boys—they were the spice of life she couldn’t deny. In high school her path was forged when she took her first job at a dry cleaners and
I wanted to met every cop in town, especially the lone female police officer in patrol. From that point on there was no stopping Kym’s pursuit of a career in law enforcement—even
if she had to duct tape rolls of coins to her waist to meet the weight requirements to be hired. (Yes, she really did that!) Kym followed her dream and became a detective that fulfilled her desire to be an investigative reporter, with one extra perk—a badge. Promoted to sergeant Kym spent the majority of her career in SVU. She retired from the job reluctantly when her husband drug her kicking and screaming to another state, but writing continued to call her name.
