Opportunities Arise In Business And You Have To Say No…

Yesterday, as I sat her working, I decided on the spur of the moment I wanted to take Charlie back out to the lake. Although I didn’t know if David would get off in time to go. God must have been listening because at 1:30 my phone rings and it is David letting me know he is through for the day. David said I could come home, or he could stay at work and try and find something there to do.

Which would allow him to get his full day? At first, I said do what you want as I don’t care. Then I started to think about it, and I was like you came home early yesterday, and we need the money so you might want to stay until at least 3. David and I were discussing this Charlie walk into the room. I ask him if he wants his dad to come home early or to stay at work. Charlie says he needs to go back or he might get sick. So David means I’ll be home in a little bit let me clock out.

I ask Charlie to go put on his swimsuit and to grab my book out of my room. Charlie ask me why and I let him know we were going Swimming.  Charlie ask me where so I give him 2 places we can go as we are flat broke so it has to be somewhere free. Which means the lake or the Rec as we have a membership to swim there. Charlie says the Lake where dad took me and Aiden and I said yes. By that time David is home and Charlie lets David know we are going to the lake.

David ask me if I am sure as I hate the lake even though I lived in it as a child. I said yes, that is fine because as you and Charlie can play and I can rest and read my book as my head is hurting and I knew we needed the time away. So off to the lake we go and both Charlie and David have so much fun that I am thinking we might need to go back this afternoon. As I was able to rest and relax by laying out on the beach.

Once we got back home, I told David and Charlie I needed to check for messages on the computer, and I had one from Bill Elliott about paying for his events for the rest of the year. Without asking David about it, I let Bill know I wouldn’t be taking part in it at this time as I might end up closing the blog because it wasn’t helping us at this time. Bill thanked me for letting him know and asked me to let him know if I did quit.

I shut the computer down and went into my room and laid down. As I lay there I could hear both my mom and Suzzane say no, don’t give up things will get easier. I walked back into the living room to let David know I needed to get something to eat. Charlie picked Nachos from Taco Casa. While at dinner I let Charlie and David both know I needed to talk to them and I explained I was struggling and was tired and thought it was time to shut the blog down and find something new to do.

God had different plans for me because as I talked to Charlie and David about how I was feeling. Charlie told me how he felt and that he didn’t want me to shut the blog down as he loved it and all the things we get to do. I looked at David and he was stunned that I wanted to close it. Once Charlie was through talking I asked David what he thought and he said he didn’t want me to close it either but it was my choice.

On they way home, I let them know I would give it 6 more months but if they didn’t help and support me the way they said they would I was closing the website. Charlie has even decided its time to open his blog, and him and David will be running it right along side me. As well as helping out more on this site.  I can’t say this is what God wants us to do for sure but what I can say is I feel more peaceful and less stressed out.

Even though I didn’t take Bill Elliott up on his offer, I might add in the future and if not that is okay as well as it just means it wasn’t what God wants us to do. So be watching for more items from David and Charlie. As well as more Round Ups, Freebies and Recipes as I took the money I would be paying Bill Elliott and have given it to Thaleia as I want this to be a blog you want to visit and want to invite your friends and family.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
