Our Journey to the Perot Museum

Mine and David’s family both have lived in DFW all of our lives. Only neither of us can say we have done much in Dallas. Which means there are lots of places we didn’t know existed. Or have been able to visit even if we knew about them.  I would like to let you know we visited the Perot Museum, and it was so much fun yesterday as we learned about Birds of Paradise!!

Such as Fair Park in Dallas or Medieval Times. Which both David and I would love attending and we think Charlie would enjoy Medieval Times a lot. Plus yesterday we passed the Dallas Zoo on the way to the Perot Museum, and Charlie has asked to visit it. I hope to be able to take him soon as it is another place David and I haven’t ever been.

I would like to let you know I received an email inviting my family out to the 3rd Annual Blogger Event at the Perot Museum. I was surprised and excited to read the email and to be able to share the email with  David and Charlie.

As a family, we sat down and discussed attending the 3rd Annual Blogger Event at the Perot Museum. After much discussion, we decided visiting the Perot Museum would be worth letting Charlie miss school. As it might be the only time we would be able to attend the Perot Museum and Charlie would be able to share what all he saw and learned with his classmates.

On Wednesday Davids shift, at work changed and we didn’t think he would be able to attend the event with us which was OK as Davids mom said she would go. Only God had different plans, and Sherry texted me Wednesday afternoon to say she wouldn’t be able to attend as she had to help Leslie move.

I sat in front of the computer, getting ready to email the lady in charge of the event and let her know we wouldn’t be able to attend. When God opened a door that had closed  David was able to participate in the with us yesterday morning.

Yesterday morning we all got up early and got ready and left for the Perot Museum. We ended up getting lost but because I had us start earlier than the map recommended we were able to make it on time. I was so happy to be as we were invited out as part of the 3rd Annual Blogger Party. And the check-in began at 9 am, and I didn’t want to be late or cause them to have to wait for mine. But we arrived right at 9 am thank you, Jesus.

I am so glad “God” had changed who went with me because once David, Charlie and I  arrived at the Perot Museum both David and I admitted it would have been hard on his mom navigating it as there was a lot of Stairs we had to climb. In some places, there was also elevators and escalators.

So thank you for reading Our Journey to the Perot Museum and please come back and read part 2 about what all we learned and say inside the Perot Museum and the films we could have watched.

We had to leave as soon as the event was over so we could get back home and David could eat and go on to work. If David hadn’t had to return to work, we would have stayed and watched a film and let Charlie play. I know both Charlie and David would have enjoyed it a lot.

I hope you enjoyed learning about the Perot Museum and if you have been come and tell us about your visit.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
