Plaque HD Plaque-Identifying Toothpaste

Plaque HD Plaque-Identifying Toothpaste

I am not sure if it is just my child or if your children are the same way. But getting Charlie to brush his teeth is as hard as moving a brick building. And it should be second nature to him now as he will be 9 in December. But it seems I spend more time reminding Charlie to brush his teeth than  I do anything else. And I hate it as he knows his dad and I both have bad teeth. So today I would like to share a new toothpaste with you called  Plaque HD Plaque-Identifying Toothpaste.

So I am hoping with the new items I was sent to review it might change Charlies opinion on brushing his teeth. But I am not holding my breath on that happening. And you shouldn’t either.

But today I would like to share a new product we was sent to review called Plaque HD along with some toothbrushes from Colgate. And before I share my thoughts with you on the review I would like to let you know we recieved these items for free but the thoughts in this review are all mine and my families.

So today I would like to share a excerpt with you I was sent from Plaque HD as Charlie plays Sports and attends public school and I never thought about the facts that are in this post. And yes, Charlie like more children drinks juice boxes and doesn’t have time to brush his teeth afterward.

Kids and their teeth related to sports camps/school athletics. With summer right around the corner, parents may not realize when they send their kids off to sports camp and/or school activities that their children’s teeth and oral health should be a concern. Why? Because the constant sipping of sports drinks and juice boxes is like soaking teeth in a sugar bath. And those, unfortunately, are a snack time staple. Additionally, this concern grows even greater when kids have braces – because when the braces are put on, the teeth accumulate much more plaque and bacteria

Now even though this toothpaste is for kids once I saw it came in Fresh Mint and Berry Blast for kids. I knew I wanted to try it out as well as I love Fresh Mint in a toothpaste. And I knew Charlie would like the Berry Blast. And I was right as it is the one he uses all the time now. And has even asked once he runs out if we can purchase more of the Berry Blast. And David and I can’t wait to get more of the Fresh Mint toothpaste as it leaves our mouths feeling fresh and clean. And there is no aftertaste and our breath smells so much better. And there isn’t a paste taste like happens with a lot of toothpaste we have used in the past.

So today I would like to share a tidbit about Plaque HD

**The brand was also featured in the Wall Street Journal if you’d like to read more about it: http://www.wsj.com/articles/can-green-toothpaste-fight-tooth-decay-1454947399

WHAT: Kids attending summer sports camp, school activities/practice need to pay special attention to their teeth and overall oral health, as moms may not realize the amount of sugary sports drinks their kids are consuming.

WHY: Because the constant sipping of sports drinks and juice boxes is like soaking teeth in a sugar bath and the frequent sipping of sports drinks increases the time that the acid sits on the teeth. Over the years as this has been studied, dentists have seen an increase in decay, cavities and tooth erosion in athletes and people who engage in sports/workouts because of their intake of sports drinks and because of dry mouths needing hydration – and being filled with sugar instead. While it seems ironic since athletes and kids participating in sports are choosing to be healthy by exercising, eating well to fuel their workouts, and drinking “healthy drinks,” unfortunately the sugar and acid content in these can really take its toll on the teeth.

FACTS:

  • Plaque is clear, making it hard to identify on teeth
  • Tooth decay is always caused by sugar and acid erodes away the enamel
  • Studies performed on athletes during the London Olympics in 2012 indicated that approximately 45-55% of the athletes had either tooth decay or abrasion, while 76% had gum disease
  • When the braces are put on, teeth accumulate much more plaque and bacteria, since the brackets makes it much harder to brush well, hiding the plaqueunderneath
  • PlaqueHDPlaque-Identifying Toothpaste identifies and combats the plaquebuildup found on kids teeth, and especially the buildup that covers the teeth of kids with braces, making it a must to prevent plaque accumulation

HOW TO COMBAT IT:

Help your kids stave off cavities and other dental issues with Plaque HD, a new and first-to-market toothpaste that contains a natural plaque-indicating dye that turns the plaque on your teeth teal… and only disappears once you’ve brushed it all off, targeting any areas of plaque that may have been missed during usual brushing.Do you remember when we were kids and popped the hot pink tablet that tasted like candy but turned your mouth fuchsia to show plaque? We now have the 2016version of that – but this one contains natural teal-colored disclosing agents to color and identify clear plaque build-up on teeth, helping consumers brush better and smarter. Independent studies conducted in the orthodontic department at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry show that patients who usedPlaque HD had four times as much plaque removal compared to patients who used a standard toothpaste on the market – leading to brighter, whiter and healthier teeth. These results were recently published in the prestigious Journal of Dentistry and Oral Science.

Price: $14.95, Available in Fresh Mint and Berry at Amazon.com

Colgate Wave Gum Comfort Soft Compact Head Toothbrush Colors Vary (Pack of 8)

Charlie and I also would like to let you know we was sent Colgate Wave Too toothbrushes in purple which is the one I took. Blue for Charlie as it is his favorite color. And green for David even though Charlie tried to take it as well. We was nice and let David have it as he needed a new toothbrush. Just as bad as Charlie and I did.

All three of us like the curve on the handle of our Colgate Wave Toothbrush as it makes it easy to hold. And it fits in our hands and doesn’t slide around. The toothpaste glides on and stays in place. I like that our Colgate Wave Toothbrush has soft bristles we they didn’t hurt our teeth or make our gums bleed. Like other toothbrushes we have used in the past.
