Proud Mommy Moment at Cicis Pizza

As a mom there is certain moments when us moms have “PROUD MOMMY MOMENTS”!! For me my Proud mommy moment was on Friday as it was Charlies first spelling test in 2nd grade and I was more nervous than Charlie was. David had to keep me busy all day as I wanted to go pick Charlie up early so I could see how he did. As we worked on his spelling words all week and until 9:30 on Thursday evening. As well as going back over them on Friday morning. Where he still stumbled some. But let me tell you as soon as he walked out of the school Charlie was beaming. He didn’t want me to look into his backpack until we got home and was sitting down on the couch together. Nor would he discuss the test with me. So I wanted to ask his teacher how he did but I knew it would upset him. So I waited and we walked home.

Once we go home he took his Backpack to the restroom with him so I wouldn’t look inside it. Then he had to have a drink. So I walked the front room while David laughed at me. He thought Charlie should make me wait longer just to see what I would do.

But finally Charlie came and sat down on the couch with me and handed me his Backpack. I went through it and there was no test inside it. Mrs. Badger hadn’t given it back to the kids. But she did tell them what all they made. So Charlie asked me I wanted to know how he did on his spelling test. So I said no, I do not care. So the little stinker got up and says then I am going outside to play you can wait until Tuesday to find out.

I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOO and David just started laughing as he thought is was so funny. Not. Finally Charlie says well mom I do not know what you will think about this but I made a (DRUM ROLL) 104!!! Yes, he did he made a 104 and a 100 on his reading. I was so Proud of him I was doing a HAPPY DANCE!!!

Now let me tell you David was as well although he doesn’t show it. So we took Charlie to Cicis on Friday as this is where he choose to eat at. Then on Sunday his Granny and Papa took us all to Braums because like me she was so proud of Charlie.

So tomorrow is a new week. Will he make a 100? I am not sure. All I know is as long as he works hard like last week I will be s proud of him because he tried.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
