Surface A Novel Written by Stay Robinson

SURFACE is a book written by Stacy Robinson which I was sent to conduct a review. The thoughts in the review are all mine and mine alone.

I had never heard of the Author Stacy Robinson until this new book arrived. I wasn’t sure if I would like her style of writing or not. As I have a set group of Authors I read and I don’t understand books by Authors, I do not know. The storyline in Surface caught my attention, so I wanted to see if it was as good as it looked. Also, I liked the cover of Surface as it is intriguing and the word Surface had me wondering why she chose that as the title.

I looked over the cover of the book it mentioned “Secrets and marriage” which caught my attention. I think my husband has been keeping things from me. So I grabbed my favorite beverage and climbed into my chair and opened Surface up and began reading. Before I read the first chapter, I went back and reread the back cover of Surface. I could hear myself saying yes, to some of it, so I knew I needed to delve into Surface to see what was going to happen. There were secrets I wanted to know more.

All I can tell you is this book will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know more. You will be asking a lot of what ifs and I did not realize that questions. So check out Amazon and order your copy of Surface now. Once you finish reading it, let me know what you thought of Surface.

Claire Montgomery has a lifetime of sensible decisions behind her. All it takes is one impulsive indiscretion to bring everything crashing down—her marriage to a wealthy entrepreneur, her status as part of one of Denver society’s power couples, and the future she dreamed of for their seventeen-year-old son, Nick.

Claire’s husband, Michael, angrily blames her for the recklessness that has left Nick’s life in the balance—though not nearly as much as Claire blames herself. But as Nick struggles to move forward, Claire too begins inching toward a reimagined future. Along with a fresh perspective come new questions. Are there other reasons for her fractured relationship and Michael’s increasingly erratic behavior? Has he, too, been harboring painful secrets? And does Claire dare to find the truth, when her seamlessly decorated world of privilege and security is at stake?

This “beautifully written” novel exploring the consequences of flawed choices and the complex nature of betrayal and forgiveness is “an utterly compelling story of one woman’s traumatic fall and her ultimate and triumphant resurrection” (Holly Chamberlin, author of The Beach Quilt).

“Gripping . . . With sharp, smart, writing, and a palpable undercurrent of tension from start to finish, Surface will captivate readers and give book clubs plenty to talk about.” —Michelle Gable, author of A Paris Apartment
