Charlie returned to school this year and the first thing his teacher did was send them home with Spelling words for 4th Grade. The words are Core K-3 Sight words and they are supposed to study them each night for at least 10 to 15 minutes each evening. Instead of spelling them a lot she wants them to write them down as fast as they can. You would think she was trying to punish Charlie with all the fussing he has been making.
Although we have been studying the words and I must say Charlie has really surprised me in how many of the Core K-3 Sight words he knows as he has been getting most of them right and when he misses one he usually catches himself and I have seen him sounding them out to make sure he gets them right. I am so proud of Charlie as I thought he wouldn’t know most of them and wouldn’t pass her spelling test but I don’t think that way anymore. So I thought you might like to have the list of words to use in your classroom.
