One again in our household things are changing again with Charlie and I. As this past month has been hard on Charlie. As Charlie has watched his friends getting ready to gp back to school. And Charlies friends talking about seeing there friends they had missed this Summer. And the things they will be learning in school. And the clothes and supplies they play on purchasing.
And like any mom we know when our children are hurting. Or there is something bothering them even when they say there isn’t, and this is what has been happening in our family especially with Charlie.
So the other day David was out walking and passed by the school Charlie used to attend. And David saw the Vice Principal outside and they got to talking as David had grew up with him. And he mentioned to David that there would be a new principal and new ladies working in the office. As well as some new teachers as some of the old ones was gone as well.
So Charlie heard us talking and the more I watched Charlie the more I knew something was on his mind. But he didn’t want to talk to me about it. So finally I asked Charlie to sit down with me and I asked him about school and what he wanted to do. As he could continue with Homeschooling or return to public school.
So Charlie finally admitted he wanted to return to Major Cheney if possible. So last week I did what both Charlie and David wanted and I registered Charlie for school and he will be in 3rd grade. And as I did it my heart was breaking and Charlie said it was okay and that he would remain at home with me. But that wasn’t the right thing for Charlie. So after much Praying I did register Charlie.
So last night we went to meet the teacher but they didn’t have his paperwork so I am sitting here waiting to hear from the school. And Praying that this is the right thing for Charlie. But I am scared and nervous as I don’t want Charlie to get hurt again.
And I am also praying my homeschooling Charlie last year didn’t hinder him and he is able to catch up with the other children and progress at the level he needs to. But if he does stumble or have trouble with the things they are learning one thing I know is that I can continue to Homeschool Charlie and use all the resources we found over the last year to make sure he isn’t only on the 3rd grade level but ahead some.
So today as I get ready to send Charlie back to school on Monday I would like to ask you to Pray for us. Especially me as I am barely holding it together. And the only thing that is making this easier is that David says we will try it for one semester and if it isn’t working I can remove him. And this is what a lot of the parents was talking about yesterday.
And one thing I can tell you is that I am not the only one suspecting a change in our household as the dogs are too. And they have been glued to Charlies side since last Friday. So I wanted to share with you a picture I snapped of Thor and Sandi. As they know things are changing.
