Ultimate Blog Challenge 2016 Day 20

Ultimate Blog Challenge 2016 Day 20

Ultimate Blog Challenge

This was a post I found in the drafts in back office but it had such great advice that I wanted to share it with you. Because there is so much I regret where Suzzane come into play. As she isn’t here as she is now in Heaven. But there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t ask myself if she knew she was loved. Also was I a good parent and did I listen enough?

So for Day 20 we was supposed to  to share something  we know a lot about and since I am a mom first and foremost. I wanted to remind you to take time to enjoy your children. And to make sure and spend time with them everyday.

Because  they grow up so fast that one day they may be gone. Either by growing up or God forbid to a accident like Suzzane was. Or you might be the one who isn’t here anymore as you might pass away. As no, one is guaranteed tomorrow.

So like me you will be  wondering where the time went. So if your children are talking to you make sure you are paying attention no, matter how many times you have heard what they are saying. Ask questions about the things they are interested in and really listen.

Because  if you do not listen when they are little then they will not talk to you as they get older. And to them what they have to tell you is important. And I find I  tell myself this a thousand times a day. As Charlie is obsessed with Wrestling and I hear David get frustrated with all the questions Charlie ask him. And I keep reminding David to calm down and listen. And he doesn’t do it. So one day he may regret this as Charlie may not have time for him. And that would be Davids fault.

Also if there is something you do not know make sure you tell your children. Do not hide it from them. Because you are teaching them that not everyone is perfect. And it shows them that you are human.

And let them know you make mistakes because no, one is human and David doesn’t like to let Charlie know  he makes mistakes. But I always tell Charlie when I do. And how I go about and fix these things. And if it isn’t something I know about I get Charlie to help me look things up online. As I want us to grow and become more knowledgeable together.

So today as a Parent I would like to ask what you would like to tell your children or to teach them that you haven’t because you wasn’t sure they would want to know it?

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
