Ultimate Blog Challenge Day #6 My Father

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day #6My Father

It is okay if the person you write about is living or no longer with us. How did they influence you? What was the impact on your life or business that changed you forever?

Welcome to Day 6! I have the need… The need for speed! We are flying ahead here!

We all have people in our life that we admire or that have helped us in our life. For today’s post, pick one of those people and spotlight them in your blog post. Who knows, they may be able to help someone else just by reading your story.

Good morning, How are you this morning? I am in Texas and it is FREEZING here. As someone who hates being cold I am dreading getting my son up for school. Especially since I always walk him to school.

So as I was going through today’s prompts for the Ultimate Blog Challenge several people went through my mind that I wanted to writ about.

The first one was my daughter who was killed when she was 16. Or my mom who fought Cancer. To David’s mom granny Sherry who has stepped up to not, take my moms place but to let me know I still have a mom if I need one. To David or Charlie as they are my lives and would give there lives to me.

Only none of them mean as much to me as a my father. I was a single mom when Suzzane was born and he accepted Suzzane right from the start. When my mo wanted to send us away and for me to give Suzzane away. Not, that she didn’t love her but SINGLE moms wasn’t cool back then.

So when Suzzane was a baby he would take her to work with him so I could go to work. He loved her so much that when she was killed it caused my dad to have a Stroke.

I have seen my dad get down on his hands and knees and crawl into work when his Gout was messing up so he would have a  paycheck to feed his children.

No, matter what I have done in my life time I have no, doubt that my dad loves me and would give the shirt off his back to anyone he knows.

On  Christmas he gave David and I 10,000 dollars for a down payment on our own home. So his grands son would always be taken care of.

As I watch my dad’s health decline every day I just wonder how much longer he will be here with us. I Pray for a long time as I want Charlie to get to know the man I love more than life.

I just wish he still lived here instead of Oklahoma. I love the weeks my dad comes down and spends with Charlie and I. There just isn’t enough of them.

So today I would like to let the world know I love my dad and David reminds me so much of him as he works just as hard as my dad does for his family. Which I know David got from his dad.

David’s dad is another man I respect and would be lost without. I still remember right after David and I was married and David Sr’s moms said something to him about me and I was sitting there.

Without batting a eye David Sr. told his mom to be quite or she could leave as I was part of the family and no, one was going to disrespect me. Which showed me they accepted my and made me feel so good.

So as you can see Charlie is surrounded by so many kind and caring people with work ethics that are out of this world. So if Charlie ends up even half the men these people are he will be one special young man.

Have a Blessed weekend and thank you for stopping by. If you haven’t joined the Ultimate Blog challenge there is still time. Or if you have joined Please leave me the link to your blog so I can check  it out.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
