WALK THROUGH HISTORY AT GRAPEVINE’S 11TH ANNUAL CANDLELIGHT TOUR OF HOMES

Last weekend was my Birthday and I would like to tell you I was able to spend it with the people I love the most. David and Charlie went with me on a new adventure. Can you guess what it was? You say, no you can’t guess. Well we went on a “WALK THROUGH HISTORY AT GRAPEVINE’S 11TH ANNUAL CANDLELIGHT TOUR OF HOMES NOVEMBER 4″/

Attending a Candlelight Tour of Homes was something I had wanted to do for years and years. In fact when Suzzane was here we was planning on attending one the year she was killed. But needless to say that wasn’t Gods plan for us. As I was dealing with her death and my fathers stroke.

Then when David and I got married and became parents I didn’t think going on a Candlelight Tour would be something the guys would enjoy. So I had planned on going by myself last weekend. So as I contacted them to see if I would be able to attend I placed the event in Gods hands. Once David got home from work I mentioned the event to him and he said he would enjoy going with me as he hadn’t ever been before.

Then David called Charlie into the front room and showed him the website and once Charlie saw all the houses and that there was a shuttle we could ride between houses he surprised me and said he would like to go as well. I asked Charlie why and he gave me two reasons. One was because it was my birthday and something I wanted to do. So he wanted to go and spend time with me doing something I would enjoy.

The second reason really surprised both David and I. As Charlie said he would be able to learn about History and a new town and to share the event with his friends and teachers that Monday. Charlie even said he would take a notebook and take notes and pictures to share with everyone.

I received the tickets I let David and Charlie what day and time we would need to be there for our tour. Both of them was surprised it happened on my Birthday but was excited as it would also give us a chance to have dinner at our favorite restaurant in Grapevine.  Charlie was so excited he told everyone he knew we was going.

On the 4th David even arranged to get off early so he could come home and get dressed for us to attend. Charlie was like a kid in a candy store changing clothes over and over so he would be presentable. Once everyone was ready we headed to Grapevine which is about 30 minutes from our home.

Once we arrived in Grapevine we looked for where we was going and we didn’t have any trouble finding where we needed to be. We got into line and it went so fast as most people had purchased there tickets online. Once we was through the line David and I went to get our complimentary glass of wine.

Once I finished my wine Charlie and I walked into the Museum as we hadn’t been to it before. Both Charlie and I enjoyed being inside the school house and Charlie said he wouldn’t mind going to school there. Once we was finished we went back outside to get into line to ride the shuttle to the first home.

Be watching for part 2

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
