I may be a couple days late letting you know about National Cheddar Fries Day #CheddarFriesDay but David has a tooth that is broken and giving him grief. I was thinking I might make Cheddar Fries for us for dinner. I can even add Chili to the Fries if you want to join us for dinner. I just don’t know if Charlie will eat the Fries or not. If not then Charlie can have Cereal.

Recipe for Cheddar Day

Ingredients

Original recipe yields 3 servings

  • 3 strips bacon
  • 1 (28 ounce) package frozen French fries
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • ranch dressing for dipping

Directions

Broil under the preheated broiler until cheese melted, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve with ranch dressing.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels; crumble.

Spread fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and crisp, 15 to 20 minutes.

Remove fries from the oven. Turn on the broiler to high.

Sprinkle fries with Cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
