I wanted to share a new children’s book with you called Be Grounded, Set Boundaries, And Keep Safe Online by Rachel Brian by Author Rachel Bryan of also the Author od Consent (For Kids). I don’t know about you but I was over the moon happy to find a book that keeps us smart about screen time. I believe children spend to much time on there screens but at times screens can be good for kids other times not so much.

Even schools are relying on screens more than ever and that is why I’m so glad I #homeschooled Charlie. Join me in reading (be Smart About Screen Time as the pictures on the book showing kids on there screens at al different times even when there in bed.

The book begins with the child getting there first phone. Now your online and connected to lots of things. As parents we need to spend time talking to our kids about the things they see and do online. Monitor the websites they visit. Its time to be our children’s parents not there friend if they get mad so be

Remind kids its okay to take a social break and show them you will take a social break as well, Set rules for where they can and can not use there screens. For my family we can’t use the screens at the dinner table or the restroom because its dangerous to have screens around water.

Remind them they had to put the screens down and go outside for at least 30 minutes everyday and no, they can’t take there screens with them. Remind children screens change all the time but friends stay the same if you don’t neglect them for your screens.

Rachel is the founder, owner, and principal animator of Blue Seat Studios. Rachel is a former researcher and an educator, having taught physiology, biology and math at both the high school and college level. She has a B.A. in Biology from Brown University and an M.Ed. in educational psychology. She is a lifelong artist who has worked in print illustration, design and graphic recording.

Through writing books and making videos, Rachel has found a way to combine her love of making art with her passion for distilling complex concepts and using humor to educate people of all ages.

She lives in Rhode Island with her children, dog, cat, snake, bunny and flock of chickens . When she’s not animating, writing books, or feeding the horde, she might be kayaking out in the bay.
