I may be a day late and a dollar short when it comes to #Holidays but I couldn’t help but share and let you know ‘February 18th is National Crab Stuffed Flounder Day #NationalCrabStuffedFlounderDay and it was February 18th was also National Drink Wine Day #NationalDrinkWineDay.

I don’t know about you, but I will pass on Stuffed Flounder because I don’t like most Seafood. As for Charlie has hasn’t tried a lot of Seafood so I’m not sure if he would like #StuffedFlounder or not. As for David he loves Seafood but I’m not sure he has had Flounder so I may need to make Stuffed Flounder for David and Charlie to try out. Would you want to join us for dinner? February 18th is also National Drink Wine Day, and it’s been a couple weeks since I’ve been over to my cousin Larry Stewart and his wife Lisa Marie Stewart’s home and it’s time for a visit. While there we can celebrate National Drink Wine Day with a glass or two of Wine. Would you want to join us?

Stuffed Flounder Kid-Friendly

This is a gentle, mild, family‑friendly seafood dish that even picky eaters enjoy. This recipe is perfect for homeschool cooking lessons, hands‑on kitchen time, and introducing kids to new flavors in a fun, low‑pressure way.

Ingredients

  • 4 flounder fillets
  • 1 cup mild breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup cooked small shrimp, chopped (optional for kids)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (kid‑friendly and mild)
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

Kid Jobs (Supervised)

  • Measure breadcrumbs, cheese, and seasonings
  • Stir the stuffing mixture
  • Brush melted butter on the rolled fillets
  • Sprinkle parsley at the end

Adult Jobs

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, shrimp, Parmesan, mayonnaise, parsley, half the melted butter, lemon juice, and garlic powder.
  3. Lay flounder fillets flat on a baking sheet.
  4. Spoon stuffing onto each fillet and roll gently.
  5. Brush with remaining butter.
  6. Bake 20–25 minutes, until the fish flakes easily.
  7. Serve with lemon wedges or kid‑friendly sides like rice or steamed veggies.
