Sometimes there is so much #Food celebrated on a certain day it’s easier to share everything at one time. That is what happened for September 20th in our home. Check out the #Holidays below and let me know which food you most want to celebrate and why.
September 20 National Fried Rice Day #NationalFriedRiceDay which I am sure David wouldn’t mind celebrating with Chinese food I will pass on and Charlie isn’t here to eat with his dad. My brother or Granny Sherry might have Fried Rice with David. I’ve shared a recipe below for you to make your own Fried Rice.
Recipe for Fried Rice:
Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 20 mins
Servings: 8
Ingredients: yields 8 servings
- ⅔ cup chopped baby carrots
- ½ cup frozen green peas
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced, or to taste (Optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cups leftover cooked and chilled white rice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce, or more to taste
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil, or to taste
Directions
- Assemble ingredients.
- Place carrots in a small saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a low boil and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in peas, then immediately drain in a colander.
- Heat a wok over high heat. Pour in vegetable oil, then stir in carrots, peas, and garlic; cook for about 30 seconds. Add eggs; stir quickly to scramble eggs with vegetables.
- Stir in cooked rice. Add soy sauce and toss rice to coat. Drizzle with sesame oil and toss again.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
September 20th was National Pepperoni Pizza Day as well #PepperoniPizzaDay I don’t know about your friends and family but my family loves Pizza. I used to love Pepperoni’s which David and Charlie like a lot. Pepperoni’s bother me.
My sister Debbie Ice and even my brother Gerald Ice as well. Even though I would like to celebrate National Pepperoni Pizza Day and relive my childhood I will celebrate National Pepperoni Pizza Day and purchase a Pizza for David’s mom for dinner this evening. How about you?
September 20th is also National Punch Day #NationalPunchDay and even though Charlie is gone I think I will pick up a bottle of Hawaiin Punch and celebrate National Punch Day today with. Unless you have a recipe for Punch I should try out because I don’t know how to make Punch. Do you?
September 20th is also National String Cheese Day #NationalStringCheeseDay which is one of Charlie’s favorite ways to eat Cheese. I keep #StringCheese in the Ice Box for Charlie and also David who will eat String Cheese sometimes.
As for me I’m going to pass on String Cheese because even though they have Cheddar String Cheese I’ve never gotten into String Cheese and prefer other types of Cheese. How about you. Do you like String Cheese if so what brand and which flavor do you like?
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
