I wanted to share 2 #Holidays that should be celebrated on November 26th. November 26 is National Cake Day #CakeDay and if I hadn’t been sick since Thanksgiving, you can bet your bottom dollar I would have celebrated National Cake Day with a German Chocolate Cake. If you want to share this Holiday with me and love German Choclate Cake I’ve included a recipe below.
November 26th is also DrinksGiving #Drinksgiving. This was a teaching moment for my family because we hadn’t heard of #Drinksgiving. Had you? Have you or someone you know celebrated #drinksgiving day?
November 26 is National Cake Day — giving us the perfect excuse to indulge in a slice (or two) of your favorite Cake! Remember calories don’t count today. LOL
Here are some fun ways people celebrate #CakeDay:
- Bake a Cake at home: Try a new recipe like red velvet, tiramisu, or a seasonal pumpkin spice cake. I’m going traditional with German Chocolate Cake mine and David’s favorite Cake.
- Cupcake parties: Mini cakes mean more flavors to sample.
- Cake tasting challenge: Ask your friends to gather friends and each bring a different cake to share.
- Cake art showcase: Decorate a cake creatively and share it online with #CakeDay.
- Pairing fun: Match cakes with coffee, tea, or even wine for a gourmet experience.
National Cake Day is really about celebrating joy, creativity, and the sweetness of life. If you were to mark National Cake Day, would you go for a classic chocolate cake or something more adventurous like a matcha cheesecake? Why?

Now, I would like to share a new and unique #Holiday with you which falls on November 26 DrinksGiving #Drinksgiving. As I said above a #Holiday I hadn’t heard of, but I’ve shared information on #drinsgiving with you below.
DrinksGiving is the unofficial holiday where friends gather the night before Thanksgiving to celebrate with drinks, laughter, and a little pre-holiday cheer. It’s often called “Blackout Wednesday” in some places, but “DrinksGiving” has become the more festive, friendly name.
Here are a few fun ways you could lean into #Drinksgiving:
Celebration Ideas
Friendsgiving Vibes: Host a casual get-together with appetizers, cocktails, and a playlist of feel-good tracks.
Signature Drink: Create a themed cocktail like a “Cranberry Mule” or “Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned.”
Photo Op: Set up a fall-themed backdrop with hashtags like #Drinksgiving for social posts.
Games: Trivia, card games, or even a “thankful toast circle” where everyone shares something they’re grateful for.
Social Media Angle
If you’re planning to post: Use hashtags like #Drinksgiving, #Friendsgiving, or #ThankfulCheers. Share a group photo or a boomerang of clinking glasses. Add a witty caption like: “Stuffing our schedules with friends before stuffing our faces tomorrow. Happy #Drinksgiving!”
Would you like me to help you design a Drinksgiving-themed cocktail menu or maybe a social media graphic you could share for the occasion? If so leave me a comment with what you’re looking for and I will get to work on it right away.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
