I love being able to share children’s book with you because reading is so important. Giving books to a child is my way of showing them I love them and want them to succeed. Inside your 2025 Christmas Gift Guide: I’ve Got You! written by Vicki Jones and illustrated by Jon Foard is our latest addition to the Guide.
Reading I’ve Got You! kept reminding me of things I’ve seen Charlie struggle with and still does. My heart went out to Rhinoceros in the story as I found myself shaking my head saying I’ve been there, or I’ve felt like that.
I like how the Author found ways to distract the baby Rhino from the things that was bothering him which would keep him calm. Throughout the story we were reminded “we will find a way” which I’ve reminded Charlie of a 1,000 times but was fun to see another Adult using the same tactics I use.
I also love how the Author reminds kids parents might not always get things right. but we will keep trying and not give up and that is what children should do as well. I love all the positive compliments the parent shares with the baby Rhino which we all should do more often.
Charlie, David and I loved how the Author choose to use a Rhino in the book because they represent wisdom, strength, and protection. It’s a powerful creature and its energy is unique. Let’s visit the Zoo and see a Rhino in person.
