May 16th was National Barbecue Day #NationalBBQDay. I made Oven Baked Beef BBQ Ribs in the oven for dinner that night. They were so good Charlie and David couldn’t get enough of them. I just wish when we had purchased groceries that we would have gotten a #Brisket because when we have #BBQ that is my favorite.
Charlie loves to cook and he hasn’t ever made Ribs or a Brisket so I plan on taking him Grocery Shopping this week so he can learn how to cook his Dad’s Brisket my mom’s Potato Salad and my parents Deviled Eggs so when he moves out he will know how to make a #BBQ dinner for his family. Would you want to join us for dinner?
Make sure you mark your calendar because National BBQ Day is celebrated every year on May 16th. National BBQ Day is set to serve as a reminder of the delicious food that Americans have access to. If you don’t fell like cooking go to a BBQ restaurant celebrate National BBQ Day.
I wanted to remind you Barbecues are one of America’s favorite pastimes. Since the activity is highly common in the U.S., it is no surprise that a special day has been dedicated to celebrating the barbecuing tradition. Is there?
Although the concept of barbecuing did not originate in America, the activity has become an essential part of American culture today. Did you know the history of barbecuing in the U.S. goes back to Colonial times where any celebration was incomplete without a cookout.
After the Revolutionary War was won and the first Bridge was built over the Missouri River, barbecue celebrations erupted all over the Nation. Even the American Presidents are famous for hosting massive barbecues during times of success and on days of special observances.
George Washington’s diary is said to have referenced a barbecue event that lasted for three days. That’s how deeply rooted barbecuing is in the Country’s history! Wouldn’t it have been fun to attend that event?
Barbecues are a White House tradition thanks to President Lyndon B. Johnson who started this trend by hosting the first-ever barbecue in the Presidential headquarters. The food items served at the event included delicious Texas-style Barbecue Wings.

Recipe for Chopped Bar B Que Sandwiches
