October 1 International Coffee Day

Sometimes life is funny like today which celebrated many things I wanted to celebrate from Coffee, Older People like David’s parents but if truth was to be told myself as well. In the blink of an eye before I know I will be 70. Where did the time go?

Along with Model T’s I’ve seen all my life but haven’t ever had the opportunity to ride in a Model T but I would like to because I know my grandma Dorie did and for one day I would like to be like her. As for my parent I don’t know if they ever rode in a Model T or not.

It would be fun to have talked to my parents and seen if if they had the opportunity to ride in a Mode T or not. Only I can’t ask them because my mom and dad have passed away. If your parents are still her ask them questions and record, there answers because once they’re going you will regret not talking to them like I do.

David is lucky because his mom is still here, and he can ask his mom questions but not his dad because he has Dementia now and doesn’t remember things. I used to love hearing his stories he would tell. I wish I had record the stories for Charlie. I didn’t think about it until it was to late.

When I woke up this morning and found out October 1st is International Coffee Day #InternationalCoffeeDay, International Day of Older Persons #DayOfOlderPersons & Model T Day #ModelTDay all three of these #Holidays reminded me of my parents and David’s parents.

I’m going to see if I can find a Model T to rent and pick up Pumpkin Spiced Coffee for my mother in law and David Sr then Charlie and I are going to pick them up and celebrate Older Person’s Day and take them out to dinner. I hope David is off to go with us and its one of Pa’s good days she can go. If he can’t and mom doesn’t want to leave David Sr. we will just do pictures with the Model T.

The David, Charlie and I will go out to dinner in the Model T. Would you want to come with us? David will be able to celebrate Older People Day because David and I are over the hill as Charlie says. We will end the night with a cup of Coffee for David and Charlie.

Happy International Coffee Day on October 1 marks a global celebration of one of the world’s favorite beverages—Coffee! It doesn’t matter if you celebrate a bold Espresso, a creamy Latte, or a simple black brew, today’s the perfect excuse to savor our cup of Joe and appreciate the farmers, roasters, and baristas who make all things Coffee possible.

Here are a few fun ways to celebrate #InternationalCoffeeDay:

  • 🧋 Try a new Coffee style or origin at a new non chain Coffee Shop like Ethiopian, Colombian, or Vietnamese!
  • 📚 Learn about sustainable Coffee farming and fair-trade practices which can be studied when #Homeschooling your children.
  • 🎨 Share your Coffee moments on social media with #InternationalCoffeeDay.
  • ☕ Host a Coffee tasting with friends or coworkers. I don’t know about you and your friends, but David and Charlie would love doing a Coffee tasting of both Hot and Cold Coffee.

Remember Coffee isn’t just a drink. Coffee is a ritual, a comfort, and a culture. How are you celebrating today?

October 1 International Day of Older Persons #DayOfOlderPersons

People are fortunate to have older people around us, whether they’re family, friends, or just general acquaintances. Older people are fonts of wisdom, experience, and storytelling. Older people can inspire us to continue striving — or warn us of dangers we’re unaware of.

We should look to older people for guidance whenever and wherever possible. Unfortunately, far too often we tend to forget — or, worse, downright ignore — the older people in our lives. That’s one of many reasons why the International Day of Older Persons on October 1 is such a important #holiday.

October 1 Model T Day #ModelTDay

Model T Day is celebrated every year on October 1 to commemorate the day that changed how America traveled on its roads. Model T was an iconic automobile that changed America’s streetscape. People absolutely love and respect Henry Ford for introducing the car to America and contributing to its progress. Celebrating Model T Day is our way of paying tribute to his extraordinary enterprise.

If you’re Homeschooling your children learning about Model Ts would be fun and you could go on a #FieldTrip to a Musuem to see Model T’s or contact a car club and see if they have a Model T you could ride in. You can enhance your studies and lesson plans and study Henry Ford as well.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
