October 16 National Liqueur Day #LiqueurDay

Alcohol/ Alcoholic Beverages Holidays

We’ve been so busy this week I missed out looking up and sharing what #Holiday falls on October 16th. I looked this morning, and October 16th was National Liqueur Day #LiqueurDay a #Holiday I know David would have been happy to celebrate.

I thought I would share a little bit about National Liqueur Day with you and how you can celebrate National Liqueur Day with your friends and family. Remember if you drink today to do so responsibly and don’t drink and drive.

Before I share my thoughts with you grab your favorite liquor and let’s Chee National Liqueur Day! As I said before October 16 marks a spirited celebration of liqueurs—those sweet, flavorful alcoholic beverages infused with fruits, herbs, spices, nuts, or cream. From classic favorites like Grand Marnier and Amaretto to modern craft concoctions, liqueurs add depth to cocktails, desserts, and even savory dishes.

Here are a few fun ways people celebrate #LiqueurDay:

Mix up a signature cocktail featuring your favorite liqueur—think Irish Cream in coffee or a splash of Chambord in champagne.

Pair liqueurs with desserts like chocolate truffles or tiramisu.

Try a tasting flight of different liqueurs to explore unique flavors.

Share your creations on social media with the hashtag #LiqueurDay.

Whether you’re a mixology enthusiast or just enjoy a sweet sip now and then, National Liquor Day is a great excuse to toast to flavor and creativity. If you want a few cocktail recipes to mark the occasion? Leave me a comment with what you’re looking for and I will get to work on it.

Join David and I today to Celebrate National Liqueur Day in DFW – October 16 Whether you’re a connoisseur of cream liqueurs or a fan of herbal infusions, October 16 is your day to raise a glass and savor the sweet side of spirits.

Here’s how to celebrate in the Dallas–Fort Worth area:

Ways to Celebrate

  • Host a Liqueur Tasting Party: Invite friends over and sample a variety of liqueurs—think Grand Marnier, Amaretto, Chambord, or local Texas-made options. Pair with desserts or cheeses.
  • Craft Cocktails at Home: Try mixing classics like a B-52, White Russian, or a Nutty Irishman. Or invent your own signature #LiqueurDay Cocktail.
  • Visit a Local Bar or Distillery: Many DFW spots offer curated cocktail menus. Ask bartenders about liqueur-forward drinks or specials for National Liquor Day.
  • Attend a Fall Festival: While not liqueur-specific, DFW is packed with October events like the Dallas Bachata Festival and Texas Flamenco Festival this weekend—perfect for pairing with a celebratory drink.
  • Share on Social Media: Post your favorite liqueur or cocktail with #LiqueurDay to join the national toast

Local Highlights

  • DFW Airport Marriott in Irving is hosting the Dallas Bachata Festival through Sunday, with dance parties and social hours—ideal for enjoying a liqueur-based cocktail.
  • Downtown Arlington has a Haunted House event Oct. 17–18, which could be a fun follow-up to your #LiqueurDay celebration.

If you’re looking for liqueur-themed events or tastings, check with local distilleries like Blackland Distillery
