The purple background of the book with the two beautiful Siamese Kittens on the cover of the book drew me into the story of magic and mischief. Pastries & Potions is the second book in the Quillhaven Magical mystery series. These books can be read as a stand alone book but you need to know when you began reading the book you will not be able to put the book down once you begin reading the story.
Anna Hart ia a descendant of the legendary Elara Blackwood, the witch who saved the town from it’s demise. Anna, not only is she a witch adept at potions, but she has two Siamese cats, Luna and Leo who not only know the history being around before Anna, but the Cats can communicate with Anna, keep her protected and offer her help, wisdom and the Cats are magical as well. Reminding me of the TV Show Sabrina the Teenage Witch but the books are much more interesting than the show.
Anna also holds classes for neophyte witches to help them learn their craft. But when one of the students, messes around with a potion, she disappears. And when one of the other students tries to get her back, she disappears. Isn’t that crazy? I don’t know about you but I would like to help find them.
Add to this, Caleb, who was a celebrity Chef, is now a resident of Quillhaven since he wanted to be able to bake his special treats he infuses with some magic. Then we have some black magic and strange happenings going on in Town and the possibility of the Town to return to what the legendary witch, Elara saved them from before.
I have a question for you. Who are the shadow figures? With Anna teaming up with Caleb and the help of Luna and Leo can they save the Town? You will have to read Pastries & Potions to find out but don’t forget can they find and save the two missing students
The Author brings us to an ending you couldn’t have figured out that will have you shaking your head because you would never had thought of it ending this way. Pastries & Potions flows from the first page to the last page.
