The Dream Catcher by Marcelo Verdad (Review)

Children's Book Reviews

I wanted to share a children’s book The Dream Catcher by Marcelo Verdad (Author). I received a copy of the book in exchange for this review. Inside this post is my affiliate links . If you click on the links and make a purchase I will make a small percentage from the items you purchase.

The Dream Catcher is a cute inspiring children’s book which the Author teaches us to dream. Just like the little boy in the book who is making dream catchers to sale. Then he can purchase a airplane with two seats for him and his grandmother.

I could see Charlie doing the same thing for his Grandma Sherry and yes, even my mom if she were here. I love how in the story they discuss not only there dreams but other people’s dreams as well. The Dream Catchers teaches us to never give up on our dreams and to keep believing.

The Dream Catcher is the perfect story book for children of all ages. Adults will also enjoy the story and learn from the story as well. The Dream Catcher will inspire conversations in families and allow parents to explain what dream catchers are and how they work.

You could go shopping as a family for a dream catcher. Or you can come visit Charlie and I because we’ve always had Dream Catchers hanging up in our bedroom. Have you had a dream catcher or would you like one?

Remember if your #Homeschooling your children you could have them read The Dream Catcher in there #Homeschool Reading Class. In Art Class they could build a Dream Catcher. If they take a #cooking class create cookies or sandwiches in the shapes of Dream Catchers.

About the book:

For fans of Last Stop on Market Street, an uplifting story about a boy who stays true to his biggest dream while finding the magic in every moment.

Some people dream of perfect waves, fancy castles, or piloting a plane. Others dream of someone to laugh and play with all day long. Some just dream of having a meal for the next day.

And little Miguel? As he and Abuelito work in the hot Oaxacan sun, selling cold coconuts and macrame dream catchers to earn a few coins, Miguel has only one simple wish—to have his parents by his side. But how can he keep the faith when the truth is that dreams don’t always come to pass?

Marcelo Verdad’s poignant tale of hope and resilience shows how living in the here and now can be a journey every bit as beautiful as a dream.

A Spanish edition, El atrapasueños, is also available for purchase.
