I would like to share a new children’s book with you called Walden: A BabyLit® Nature Primer the book is written by Jennifer Adams. I received a copy of the book in exchange for this review.
I love when a book can be used as a #teachingmoment as well as just a book to read for fun oras a bedtime story. I love how the cover of the book reminds me of Nature and a day in the Woods. the trees are so tall and I love the house.
I love how we learn the main character lives in the woods alone. Would you like to live in the woods alone? I would. I enjoyed how the Author shared illustrations of different types of Trees and what they look like. I love the red oak Leaf and also the Maple Leaf.
Then we learn about different plants like Skunk Cabbage I hadn’t heard of before. Had you? Charlie liked the Water Lily. How about Berries and the Strawberries reminded me of a Ladybug if you look closely. What do you think?
Charlie and David liked seeing the Birds. Charlie liked the Owl and David liked the Hawk. I liked the Robin. What about you? Next was animals including Fox, a Rabbit and so much more. Insects which most of the time I would pass on. What about you?
But there was a Butterfly which I wasn’t going to skip looking at. A Spider which David liked. Then we see Fish and Charlie thought it was funny that there was a Fish named Pickerel which I hadn’t heard of. Had you?
Vegetables which was next which Charlie and David thought we should skip. No, not me I love a lot of Vegetables. What about you? At the end the Author reminds us that we can never have enough nature, can we?
My family really enjoyed all the illustrations and the storyline is intriguing. If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out Walden: A BabyLit® Nature Primer you should as well because I know you will enjoy this children’s picture book as much as my family did.
