Charlie and I would like to welcome you back to our Would You Rather Challenge: August 14th, 2025. The challenge is using a question from the children’s book The Ultimate Book of Would You Rather Questions: 1001 Family-Friendly Challenges for Kids, Teens and Adults by Kimberly McLeod (Author).
In this morning’s question we were asked if we would rather be good at a sport you don’t like playing or be average at a sport you like playing? Why? Charlie said he would rather be average at a sport he likes playing because he would get better at the sport the more he plays.
Charlie said if he was good at a sport he didn’t like playing most likely he wouldn’t play or he would quit so why be good at the sport. I agree with Charlie although I don’t like any sports and can’t play most of them because of my arm and shoulder.
Although, I would like to get better at Pool and also bowling because these are sports I could do with my family. David said he wouldn’t want to do either because he doesn’t have much time for sports and his knees keeps him from playing the sports he enjoys so he will just stick with Pool since Charlie has quit playing basketball.
Which would you rather do be good at a sport you don’t like playing or be average at a sport you like playing? Why?
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
