Cotton Patch Cafe #161

Last night my family was going to attend the Selena Movie Premier in Denton, Texas. Charlie was hungry so drove around the Theater looking for a place to eat. Even though I Hop it right there and the Theater does food. We wanted to sit and spend time as a family Charlie saw a Whataburger and I found Cotton Patch.

I asked Charlie which one he would prefer, and he choose Cotton Patch because he knows I like there Vegetables and its better for my diet. Even though I do eat the Rolls which I love. We walked in and were seated right away. Even though the resturant wasn’t busy we had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. People came in after us and were waited on first.

David was getting so flustered because we was on a time limit that he wanted to leave. But I asked David to wait a few more minutes. Which I wish we had just left. The waiter came and we gave him not only our drink orders but our food selections. Which he had me to keep repeating and our order was still wrong.

Once our food did arrive, I let the waiter know we needed drink refills. He said Dr. Pepper and Sweet Tea. We said yes, and I ended up with Unsweetened Tea. I reminded the waiter we were waiting on Rolls which he didn’t bring even though he said they had them. I am used to sitting down and getting our drinks and rolls before our food arrives.

David ordered the PATTY MELT* with no, Onions and no, Butter on the Bread at all. David’s sandwich came out swimming in Butter. He let the waiter know who took it back to get it fixed. We waited and waited and the Patty Melt finally arrived. David took a couple bites and discovered it was raw. He couldn’t even eat it and we didn’t have time to send it back.

David let the waiter know he just says I’ sorry and walks off. Again, I ask for Rolls. Before you ask no, we didn’t get them. I ordered the Vegetable Plate. My Salad had Onions which I had said I didn’t want. The extra Ranch I asked for I didn’t get. My Baked Potato Soup looked like it had been sitting in the pot for two days. The Mac & Cheese and Black-Eyed Peas were okay, but I paid to upgrade my plate and couldn’t eat some of my food which is unacceptable. The Baked Potatoe was okay but a tad cold.

Charlie’s Chicken Fried Steak was right but a tad dry. The Gravy did come on the side like I asked. Charlie and I liked the Fries a lot. During dinner Charlie needed a refill and we couldn’t get one. Finally once Charlie had finished eating, they brought him a Soda and still no, Rolls. Charlie was so upset he doesn’t want to ever come back.

I know times are hard and we shouldn’t complain but when I pay $50 for a meal, I would like to be able to eat my food and bring the leftovers home if I choose to. Although, they didn’t have containers for Soups or Vegetables which we ended up living on the table along with David’s Hamburger and one the way home I had to purchase another meal for David.

I know we will return to the Movie Theater and next time we will eat inside their restaurant because I am not sure my family would want to return to this Cotton Patch which shouldn’t stop you from trying it. Just leave plenty of time to order and get your food incase you encounter any problems I did call the story this morning and spoke to the manger.

I would like to let you know he was kind enough to give me two options: a) another me or b) a full refund. I asked for the refund and money was put back on my husband’s credit card because Denton is over a hour away from our home and I wasn’t sure when we would be in that area again or if Charlie would even go back there with us.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
