Do You Know?: Boats (TW Do You Know, 10)

Adult Book Recomendations

I would like to introduce you to a children’s book Do You Know?: Boats (TW Do You Know, 10) by Laurence Mugeut I received a copy of from Twirl Books in exchange for a review.

As were planning our Lessons Plans on next year still even though school actually began on Monday for Charlie. I knew we wanted to study transportation which is why I’ve added Boats and Transport to our School Library. I know when Lily and Jason come to visit even though the book is for younger children, they will enjoy reading the story and seeing all of the illustrations.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to see the cover of the book and you like Boats then you must check out not only the cover of the book but the inside of the book. There was a Supermarine which we recognized but boats we wasn’t sure of that we can look up online. Can you believe Charlie has never been on a boat which David and I grew up on.

As a Field Trip this year I plan on taking us to the Lake and renting a Boat, Kayak and also a Caneo for our family to try out. Charlie also hasn’t ever been camping so I think it would be fun to rent a space on the Lake to go camping and then check out the Boats. Would you like to come with us? Over Smores we can read this book before we turn in for the evening.

Charlie opened the book and we went through the table of contents getting more familiar with the book. I let Charlie know at the end of the chapter is “lets review pages” which we will be using in our Test we take when we finish our studies on Transportaion. Charlie and I loved finding out the names for the different parts of boats including Sailboats which we can use in our Language Arts Class for spelling.

The Author covered so much information that we will be reading a few pages at a time to give us the opportunity to go over what we’ve learned. In our Art Class Charlie and I will even be creating a boat out of supplies we have around the house. Would you like to make a boat with us which should be a lot of fun.

Then Charlie and I plan on watching a movie about boats while playing Battleship and in our Homeschool Cooking Class were going to make Cookies in shape of the boats, we saw in the Boat then go on a Field Trip/ Scavenger Hunt in our neighborhood to see what kind of boats we find. As well as a Trip to a Boat or Marine Store. Would you want to go with us?
