Foreign Languages

It’s Saturday, September 7, 2019, and time for Foreign Languages! Charlie is in Middle School this year and I remember when I was in Middle School I had to take Spanish.

To prepare Charlie for a Foreign Language I have been researching websites he can use to learn a new language this way I can take the class with him and help him learn the language so Charlie doesn’t struggle in school with this class.

Study Stack

Age Range: 7-18 (Grades 2-12, with parental supervision) At this website, use the menu to find “Study Stacks” of interactive, virtual flashcards for a variety of languages.

When you get to the site, choose a language to study including:

  • Cantonese
  • Czech
  • Dutch
  • French
  • German
  • Greek
  • Hebrew
  • Hungarian
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • and many more!

Then choose the category like alphabet, nouns, common words, etc.

As you flip through the cards, you are given the option to delete from your current stack the ones you’ve mastered and keep the ones you wish to practice again by choosing “Know” or “Don’t Know”.

But that’s not all! Each set of virtual flashcards comes with its corresponding set of activities. There’s a matching game, hangman, a study table (where you can view all of the information in the form of a table), unscramble, crossword, quiz, and more!

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
