Direct Sellers Gift Guide: Nancy Brady

Guess who’s joined our Direct Sellers Gift Guide this morning. Nancy Brady offers us Wine, and she is a Home Wine Consultant who hosts               Wine Tasting parties in our homes. I have held parties with other companies twice. I wish Nancy were closer because I would host a party for her.

Tell me how you got involved in your business?

Hello, my name is Nancy Brady. I have been a Nurse for 23 years and I started looking for a way to supplement my income, pay off my debts and plan for my retirement. I started with one company which focused on learning so many products (health and wellness) and all their uses. I loved the product, but I struggled to build a business.

In March 2017 I was introduced to Direct Cellars. I really love small vineyard, wines as they are very unique in flavor compared to store bought wines. The wine is delivered to my home every month which is so convenient. Much to my surprise, I discovered my team is structured very differently compared to my other company. I have a great team and their main focus is building a business. Because the choices are simple, Red, White or Both, I don’t have to focus on products. Since joining Direct Cellars, there is so much support in our Facebook Groups I learn something new every day.

What does a typical day look like as in the like of someone who runs their own business?

My team members have variety ways of running our businesses. As a full time, Registered Nurse in home care, I work more than my 37.5 hours a week plus on-call hour. I work my business in my time off and what works with my available time.

Other team members are stay at home moms or they work their business full time.  Some will do home parties and vendor shows. I do my business on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. I take advantage of my time on the road and use a car decal to advertise my business.

We have team training on conference calls and zoom calls. You can watch it when its live or on your schedule. The options are endless and very flexible to your schedule and time.

What attributes does someone need to have in order to be really successful in this position?

To be successful in a home-based business, you should possess these traits: Ambition, Drive, Willpower, Patience, Integrity, Passion, Self-Confidence, Great Attitude, Teamwork, Perseverance, you need to be a Hard Worker, Focused and be able to set Goals. If you don’t have some of these attributes or traits, don’t worry, as you will develop them in the process of your own self-development.

What are the biggest challenges that someone in this position would face?

Fear, Rejection and Failure are my 3 of the hardest challenges I face every day. I am learning to overcome my fear and step out of my “Comfort Zone,” and that is scary. I am learning to not “take it personally” when someone is not interested in my business. I learn from my mistakes and make changes to improve my technique.

What did you do before you started your business?

I am currently employed full time for the last 6 years as a Home Care Nurse. I was also employed for 17 years at a local hospital on a busy medical, surgical floor. Prior to that, I was employed as a Printed Circuit Designer in the computer industry for 14 years.

Please tell us about your business, the products you offer.

What is your favorite part about working from home?

The best part of this business is that I can work it from my phone wherever I am. I take advantage of every opportunity that I have in my busy week. I have worked my business while waiting for an appointment, while traveling for business or pleasure. The places are endless.

I was in NYC for the weekend in October 2017 for our company event. We learned about company updates, network marketing training, awards, recognition, future plans for the company and so much more. Our next event is in Las Vegas, February 2017. Let’s not forget about the tax benefits when you have a home-based business.

What can you tell me about your new products or plans for growth?

My plan for growth is to develop a team that not only wants to have a home-based business but also to have fun doing it. I will fulfill my goal and leave my full-time job and make my home-based business my full-time job.

The wine experts at Direct Cellars are always looking for new wineries for select wines to ship to their customer for their wine tasting enjoyment. Of course, there are plans to open the business opportunity in other countries.

What do you feel is your greatest sales accomplishment and when/why did it happen?

My greatest accomplishment will be to successfully enroll my first business partner and customer and start developing my team.

How do you balance client expectations versus real expectations? How do you handle it when they are too high?

I am currently learning to balance my own expectations and not set them out of reach. This is really helping with my goal setting, and I am willing to take time to guide and develop my business partners. I set my goals within my reach, so I am not beating myself up at the end of the week because I failed. I expect to succeed in my home-based business. I also have a simple questionnaire for my business partners, so I know what their goals, expectations and most importantly their “Why” for having a home-based business. I want to be their mentor.

Pretend I’m a prospect and give me an example of a pitch of a product or service you are selling.

Once my prospect is interested in learning more, I share a video of the wine opportunity. I will invite them to our Monday Night Opportunity call. After my prospect views the video, I ask them what they liked about the video then get more detailed about the company benefits, such as the Fast Start Bonus, opportunity to earn free wine and commission. At this point, we will make a 3-way call with my up line to clarify any questions.

How do you keep up to date on your target market?

I stay abreast of Direct Cellars updates and changes by listening to the weekly company conference calls, my team training calls and/or zoom calls, the company and team Facebook groups.
