Henri and the Magnificent Snort : A Children’s Book about Bullying, Belonging, and Love

I would like to share a children’s book with you about a French Bulldog called Henri and the Magnificent Snort: A Children’s Book about Bullying, Belonging, and Love by Samantha Childs and Illustrated by Hannah Farr that I received a copy of in exchange for this review.

I sat down to read Henri and the Magnificent Snort. As I did Charlie walked up and let me know we should read the story together. As we did Charlie and I loved finding out Henri lives in Manhattan which Charlie and I would like to visit one day. Have you been there?

Being a typical New Yorker Henri had a lot to get done just as Charlie and I do. How about you? Charlie thought it was neat Henry got to go to work with his mom at her school. Just like Charlie’s dog Bear does with Charlie when we do our Homeschool Lessons.

Charlie let me know he would have liked to visit West Side with Henri. Charlie and I thought it was funny to find out Henri did a catwalk strut when it rained. Our dogs won’t even go outside in the rain. Do you have dogs and will yours? Henri was one lucky dog he got to visit Central Park.

Charlie and I learned Henri liked all the City dogs because they are different which makes them more fun to know. Henri had a snort he would do when he got nervous which sets him apart from other dogs. Henri’s mom said they were moving to San Diego.

Henri snorted oh, no and his mom understand him. They said good bye to there friends and took a plane to California. Henri worried how things would work out. Henri loved exploring San Diego and the Palm Trees which I wish I could see. How about you?

Henri had to take a van to Doggie Day Care. Henri meet two dogs and became friends. The next day Henri meet someone else. The new dog thought it was weird Henri snorted and began to make fun of him. Calling Henri Pig Dog which is bullying and shouldn’t be done. But even Charlie was bullied in school. Have you been?

To find out how Henri deals with the Bullies you will need to purchase your own copy of Henri and the Magnificent Snort. The perfect book for children of all ages and even adults who have dealt with bullying or knows someone who has. I hope and PRAY every teacher and school picks up copies of this book because all children should read it at least once.

About the author: Samantha Childs

Samantha Childs wanted to write children’s books ever since she was a child. Following a BA in Literature from Claremont McKenna College, a year studying Shakespeare at Oxford University, and an MFA in Nonfiction from Columbia University, a little French bulldog named Henri came into her life and gave breath to her first children’s book.

Henri and the Magnificent Snort tells the story of Henri Le Frenchie, Samantha’s dog and Instagram celebrity @henrilefrenchie, as he overcomes bullying and discovers how lovable he truly is. The story is inspired by Samantha’s experiences being bullied in middle school, and by the hope that its messages of celebrating differences, belonging, love, and self-love will help others to see their own magnificence.
