Homemade dog treats

I’ve been having trouble getting Charlie to help me cook for his Homeschool Cooking Class. Since he loves his dog so much and is able to bring her to class with him. I thought we might make homemade dog treats. Which is a great way to show our furry friend some love. As well as being a healthier option than store-bought treats, because we can control the ingredients. If you would like to make treats for your fur babies there are many different recipes available, online and you should be able to you can find one your dog will love.

Here is a simple recipe for Peanut Butter and Banana Dog treats:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup mashed banana
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, peanut butter, banana, egg, honey, and cinnamon.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Roll dough into small balls or use a cookie cutter to cut into shapes.
  5. Place treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool completely before serving to your dog.

These treats are soft and chewy, and your dog will love the peanut butter and banana flavor. They are also a good source of fiber and protein.

Here are some other tips for making homemade dog treats:

  • Use natural ingredients whenever possible.
  • Avoid adding any salt, sugar, or other unhealthy ingredients.
  • If you are giving your dog a treat with a new ingredient, start with a small amount to make sure they don’t have any allergies.
  • Store treats in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

With a little creativity, you can make your dog some delicious and healthy homemade treats that they will love.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
