Homeschool Music Class: David Bowie

This week in our Homeschool Music Class: David Bowie is the Artist we will be studying. I chose David Bowie because at times Charlie looks like him. But not only that I love his Songs and wanted to share his Music and his life with Charlie.

One of our Homeschool Resources we will be using is Special Edition Rolling Stone David Bowie which will give us a look into David Bowie Music. The magazine will give Charlie a chance to learn about David Bowie to read without overwhelming Charlie.

David Robert Jones OAL, known professionally as David Bowie, was an English singer-songwriter and actor. A leading figure in the music industry, Bowie is regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. He was acclaimed by critics and musicians, particularly for his innovative work during the 1970s. His career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation, with his music and stagecraft having a significant impact on popular music. Wikipedia

David Bowie (Little People, BIG DREAMS, 30) is another book Charlie has picked out to read this week.

In this book from the critically acclaimed, multimillion-copy best-selling Little People, BIG DREAMS series, discover the life of David Bowie, the Starman who dazzled audiences with his music.

As a child, young David had a head full of songs and ideas. He was inspired by the pop and mod scenes in Britain to pick up the Saxophone. After earning his stripes in some of the coolest bands in London, David splashed onto the solo scene. His songwriting talent and musical skill made him one of rock and roll’s all-time greatest artists. This moving book features stylish and quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the Musician’s life.

Little People, BIG DREAMS is a best-selling series of books and educational games that explore the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. All of them achieved incredible things, yet each began life as a child with a dream.
