Homeschool Resource: Robert Redford

In our Homeschool this week I thought we would study Robert Redford one of America’s Heartthrobs. Robert Redford is someone I knew Charlie might not be familiar. Allowing my family to watch movies Charlie hadn’t had the opportunity to watch in our Homeschool Drama Class. Would you like to join us for movie night?

Charles Robert Redford Jr. (born August 18, 1936) is an American actor and filmmaker. He has received numerous accolades such as an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and two Golden Globe Awards as well as the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1994, the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 1996, the Academy Honorary Award in 2002, the Kennedy Center Honors in 2005, the Presidential Medal of Freedom 2016 and the Honorary César in 2019. He was named by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2014.[1][2]

Monday: Write your Spelling words 5 times each in ABC order in your Spelling Journal.

Tuesday: Write your Spelling words in your Spelling Journal and include a definition for each word.

Wednesday:

Use your Spelling words in Sentences and include a illustration in your Spelling journal. Or use your Spelling words in sentences.

Thursday:

Take a Pre-Spelling Test and if you miss any of the words write them 5 times each. If you miss any words on the test re-take your Spelling Test on Thursday. If you make a 100 take Friday off and do something fun.

Reading Class:

Charlie will be reading Robert Redford – His Tragic Early Life, Hollywood Career, Environmental Activism, Breakout Roles, Movies, Actor, Director, Sundance Kid, Ordinary People, Butch Cassidy, Meryl Streep & The Great Gatsby and Robert Redford: The Biography for 30 minutes Monday through Thursday.

Monday through Thursday:

Charlie will be writing 2 facts a day he learned about Robert Redford in his Reading Journal.

Friday Charlie will turn all the facts into a Report he will read out loud.

Drama Class:

Look up and watch a movie or TV show that has Robert Redford and act out one of the performances for your parents.

Write a illustration of your performance in your Drama Journal and include a photo of your performace.

For a Homeschool Field Trip visit a Retail Store or Vintage Clothing Store and pick out a outfit Robert Redford would have worn for your performance to make it more realistic.

Music Class:

Look up movies Robert Redford was in and songs from the movies or shows and learn one of the songs to sing for your parents.

Write the music lyrics inside your Music Journal and include a photo of your performance.

Art Class:

Use the information you collected on Robert Redford to create a piece of art based on Robert Redford’s life using different art supplies and mediums of Art.

Write a description of your Art work and a photo inside your art Class.

PE Class:

Look up one of the years Robert Redford was a child and see what types of outside games they played. Then go outside and play the game with your parents.

Write the instructions of the game you played in your PE Journal. Include facts on the game including who invented the game.

Cooking Class:

Look up what Robert Redford liked to eat and create the recipe for your family. Or look up the State that Robert Redford came from and create the dish for your family.

Write the recipe inside your Cooking Journal with a illustration and include a photo because at the end of the year Charlie will be turning the recipes into a cookbook.
