#HomeschoolWithBoardGames Retro Series Scrabble 1949 Edition Game

While we were running errands the other day for our #HomeschoolWithBoardGames: Retro Series Scrabble 1949 Edition Game is a new Board Game I found that I would like to get for Charlie.

Retro Series Scrabble 1949 Edition Game

Dial the time machine back to 1949 with this Retro Series Scrabble game! For more than half a century Scrabble games have been America’s favorite word game.

This 1949 Retro Edition celebrates those years in retro style! The game lets you travel into the past with vintage wood tiles and racks and this unique collectible packaging. It’s a family favorite that spells over 65 years of fun!

Reading Class:

Set Retro Series Scrabble 1949 Edition Game up. Once you finish read the instructions to the players. Ask the players questions to make sure they understand what is going to happen and why. Let the players ask you questions to make sure you understand what is going to happen and why.

In your Reading Journal make notes of the Game that you want to look back on throughout the year.

Include who played the Game and who won and who lost.

Were they good winners and losers?

Spelling Class:

For Spelling this week I want you to look up words used in the 1940’s that aren’t used as much now as back then. Write the Spelling Words inside your Spelling Journal and include a definition for each word.

Math Class:

Count the Game pieces and once you come up with the answer to how many pieces there are in the Game. Create 5 Math problems for someone to work out. Ask one of the players to create 5 math problems for you to work out. Write the Math problems inside your Math Journal.

Art Class:

Create a piece of Art using the words in the Game that would have happened back then and then create a picture of what you drew would have changed from then to now.

Include a definition you will be writing in your Art Journal.

Drama Class:

Act out a Scene that happened in the Game using words from back then we might not hear today.

Write the words in your Drama Journal and include a definition for each word used.

Music Class:

Create a Song/Jingle based on the Game that could have been used in a Commercial back then.

Then change the Commercial to make it more modern and perform both songs for your parents.

Write both versions of the Songs inside your Music Journal and include a explanation of how the songs are different.

Cooking Class:

Create a Snack based on Retro Series Scrabble 1949 Edition Game which can be served during the Game.

Write the Recipe inside your Cooking Journal which will be turned into a Cookbook at the end of the year.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
