January 4th National Trivia Day

Finding ways to keep Charlie interested in what he is learning can be hard at times. But finding out January 4th is National Trivia Day will keep Charlie interested in a while. As I find fun facts to share with Charlie including these facts from TheSoul Publishing.

Fun facts to share for your next Trivia Tuesday! Their latest YouTube video on their Bright Side channel has a plenty of interesting facts that we all were curious about at least once in our lives. I shared a few of my favorite below:

What is the purpose of the rubber hair on tires?

Rubber hairs on bike and car tires have no real meaning. A tire is created with rubber and carbon black onto a tire mold with high pressure. To avoid any air bubbles, the mold has small holes for the air to escape. During the process some rubber penetrates through the holes creating little hairs on the tires. Manufacturers chose to leave the hairs as is to save time and effort in the manufacturing process.

Why do movie makers use green and blue screens?

The movie makers use green screens because they need a color that isn’t used anywhere in the shot and a color farthest from human skin tone. Colors like orange, yellow, or red don’t work because it’s too close to the skin tone. Blue and green are the main colors that people’s skin tone or hair color don’t contain naturally so they mostly choose those for the screen.

Why do couples wear their wedding rings on the left fourth finger?

The tradition originated from ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece with the belief that there is a vein in that specific finger leading straight to the heart. Thus, wearing the ring on your fourth finger signifies that your heart is taken.
