National Bird Day

Did you know January 5 was National Bird Day? I didn’t so Charlie and I didn’t study Birds that day. But its never to late to study Birds and the perfect way to get children up close to Birds is to visit a Pet Store or your local Zoo.

In the meantime here is some resources you can use in your Bird studies and if you have taught your children about Birds and have resources you could share with us leave me a comment and a link to the resources and Charlie and I will check them out this week.

On National Bird Day, kids will get the facts on feathers, eggs, and nests in this Unit on Birds. Did you know many birders can identify dozens of birds at a glance?

On Kids Discover they have a topic on Bird Watching, where students can learn the skills necessary to identify certain species. Make sure you check out there ( Print Title on Birds here.)
