“Prairie Lights” or “Prairie Lights Holiday Lights Experience”

I would like to let you know for the first time ever my family was able to attend  “Prairie Lights” or “Prairie Lights Holiday Lights Experience. Charlie and I were getting dressed to come to Prairie Lights. Charlie let me know he didn’t want to attend Prairie Lights because Prairie Lights would be boring. Out of the mouths of a preteen..
Before we left home Charlie came asked if a friend could come with us. I let Charlie know if he could find someone that would be fine with me.This way the boys could hang out while David and I spent time together. Charlie went to ask Bradley if he could come join us. Charlie came back and let me know Bradley’s mom wasn’t home so he couldn’t ask Leslie.
God was watching out for our family because we were getting into the car to leave when Leslie Bradley’s mom pulled up. Charlie went to talk to Leslie letting her know we was heading to Prairie Lights. Leslie let us know bringing Bradley with us would be fine. Bradley let us know he had been wanting to go to Prairie Lights.
Once Charlie heard Bradley and his family had been wanting to attend Prairie Lights. Charlie looked Prairie Lights up online and after seeing all there would be to do Charlie let me know Prairie Lights wasn’t going to be fun but a lot of fun. All it takes to change a child’s mind is one friend.
As we were driving I went over what everyone could expect upon the entry to Prairie Lights , where we would be directed onto the Prairie Lights route. I let the boys know that we could expect to drive for 15-30 minutes, depending on traffic. As we pulled in and started on the route I reminded David to turn our headlights off so we could see everything.
I surprised the boys when I asked them to tune in to epicradiogp.com Grand Prairie‘s new internet radio station at The Epic  for a viewing soundtrack. Both boys loved the Soundtrack. David and I enjoyed the music as well and not having to search for Christmas Music on our Radio. In the back I could hear the boys singing along and humming at times even though they wouldn’t admit singing if I asked them.
I must tell you there was much to see at Prairie Lights all of us can’t wait to go back again because I am sure we will see displays we missed. When we had Thanksgiving Dinner at David’s parents home David went over Prairie Lights with everyone.Once David finished talked David’s mom let Charlie know they would like to rent a van and to Prairie Lights.
We got halfway through the route, when we came to Holiday Village. I asked Bradley and Charlie to go inside with me. I didn’t tell them there was a Magic Lighted Forest and Santa, because I wanted to surprise them. We walked up to Holiday Village Charlie and Bradley say the Carnival Rides. The rides are free to ride when you purchase your tickets.
I tried to get Charlie to ride the Carousel with me but Charlie let me know he was to old. Although if we didn’t have Charlie’s friend with us I know Charlie would have ridden the rides over and over with me. We walked past the Concession Stand and the boys were amazed at all the snacks they offered.
We went inside Holiday Village I looked through all the Vendor Stalls. I found many Gifts I can’t wait to purchase. As I was looking through the Vendor Stalls the boys ventured off to get Hot Chocolate. Once I finished looking through all of the Vendor Stalls and made my Christmas Wish List.
We ventured into the Magic Lighted Forest. All I can say is boy oh boy I was amazed at all the displays and found many that reminded me of my daughter or my husband. Once we finished walking through the Magic Lighted Forest the boys let me know the Magic Lighted Forest was there favorite event of the night.
Charlie and Bradley surprised when they asked if they could walk back through the Magic Lighted Forest. David and I said that was fine as there was a couple displays I wanted to look at closer. David went with me and even though you might not believe in Angels I could feel my daughter Suzzane right beside me whispering in my ear which displays she liked the most.
We started back inside the Holiday Village when David begin to talk to a Volunteer. The Volunteer let us know there was a Theater inside that put on a Laser Light Show which we didn’t even notice when we were inside Holiday Village . The volunteer let us know we needed to watch the Laser Light Show because it is so much fun.
I must tell you I believe the Laser Light Show was my favorite part of the event. I asked the boys what they thought of Laser Light Show. David and Bradley let me know they liked the Laser Light Show and wanted to watch the show again. David and I let Bradley and Charlie know we would come back another day because by then it was after 8:30 and David had to get home for work the next day.
As we were leaving the boys asked us if we were finished. I let Bradley and Charlie know that we had to drive back through Prairie Lights which would take us another 5 to 15 minutes then we would be on our way home. Charlie and David let me know they were glad we were going back through Prairie Lights because they wanted to look at the exhibits again.
